Department Mission Statement
To provide cost-effective service in order to maintain a clean and safe city infrastructure to ensure a high quality of life for residents and the enjoyment of our community by visitors.
Department Goals
- Further reduce water consumption through the optimization of the computerized central irrigation controller system
- Facilitate community partnerships that encourage the proper disposal of household hazardous waste by residents
- Minimize the negative impacts of budget reductions on service levels
- Complete construction of CNG station at City Corporation Yard and approve contracts for the purchase of CNG refuse equipment
General Services Department is responsible for maintaining streets, sidewalks, street markings and signs; public restrooms and facilities, city buildings, and beaches; residential trash collection, and recycling; parks and parkways, city trees; and the fleet.
