Wood burning fireplaces - On or after March 9, 2009, all newly installed indoor and outdoor fireplaces must be fueled exclusively by gaseous fuel with an affixed burner pan, and their associated equipment, to the base of the fireplace. Affixed burner pans must be a listed component of a prefabricated fireplace.
