MCFADDEN SQUARE CENTENNIAL LEGACY PROJECT

Dear Friend,

As we enter our second century, we’d like to bring to your attention a once-in-a-century opportunity that has come along.

To celebrate our first 100 years, a permanent Centennial Legacy Project was installed at the very heart of Newport Beach, in McFadden Square, at the base of the Newport Pier. The Centennial Legacy Project is based on a timeless theme, and includes granite benches and a historical walking path with markers of significant events from the past 100 years. The focal point of the project is a bronze sculpture representative of our community.

Following the unveiling of the project in July of 2008 we have had many requests for additional donor inscriptions. Information on future engraving opportunities includes: Sponsors from $250 to $1,000 will have their names engraved in a new granite ring surrounding the walking path (this second ring will be installed this spring). Sponsors at the $2,500 level will have their names placed in the smooth granite surrounding the sculpture, and sponsors at the $5,000 level will have their names prominently engraved in granite on the top of the benches that encircle the project.

Please consider participating in this unique opportunity to create a lasting memorial for a loved one or friend. Thank you for helping Newport Beach to celebrate our first 100 years and to welcome the next 100.

Below you will find a donation form.  If you have any questions, please contact Shirley Oborny at (949) 644-3002.

Secure your place in tomorrow’s history...today!

Sincerely,
David A. Kiff , City Manager
