Pakistani envoy hopes for positive outcome of Kasuri-Natwar talks
ISLAMABAD: Pakistani Deputy High Commissioner to India Munawar Saeed Bhatti has called the upcoming meeting between foreign ministers Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri and Natwar Singh at New Delhi on September 5 historical and said that it would yield positive results.
The composite dialogue process between the two countries would achieve its goals, the high commissioner told the Voice of America. He said Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s dream for the people of the two countries to live peacefully would come true.
He said the Pakistani government enjoyed support of all opposition parties in the talks with India and the same was in New Delhi.
He added that the new Indian government was following in the footsteps of the previous regime on the issue.
He said the two countries had lost much in their confrontation over the last 56 years and should not be trapped in such animosity again. The high commissioner said that the increase in people-to-people contacts between the two countries revealed that people of both countries wanted peace and stability in the region. app
