What is the Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts?
The Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts (LSMSA) is the preeminent state supported residential high school with competitive admissions for Louisiana's high-achieving, highly-motivated students.  Students apply during either their freshman or sophomore year for the opportunity to attend the Louisiana School for their final two or three years of high school.  Consideration is also given to students who apply only to attend LSMSA for their senior year.  As a public school, there is no tuition and only a nominal room and board fee that can be reduced or waived (Fee Waiver Reduction Form). Established by the Louisiana state legislature in 1982, the Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts belongs to an expanding group of state-supported, residential high schools founded to serve the academic, artistic, and creative needs of many of the state's best students.

What Can LSMSA do for You?
