Dr. Patrick Widhalm, Executive Director
... became the school's sixth Executive Director in June, 2001. He is responsible for the overall planning, execution, and assessment of the school's work toward meeting its mandate and mission. This includes allocation and maximization of both human and fiscal resources and establishment of policies and procedures. His administrative team includes six Directors.

Dr. Jim Findley, Director of Academic Affairs
... was a member of the school's original faculty as a teacher of history. In July of 2003, he accepted the appointment as DAA. He is responsible for the school's academic program, including curriculum development and assessment, course scheduling, and academic advising. He oversees faculty along with the Academic Counseling office, the Media Center, Computer Services, and the Registrar's office. In recent years, he has also expanded Articulation Agreements with in-state and out-of-state universities.

Ms. Emily Shumate, Director of Student Affairs
... became the DSA in July 2001 and supervises the coordinators of residential life, residential life staff, coordinator of student development, school nurse, and coordinator of athletics and recreation. She coordinates clubs and student activities, sponsors the school's ambassador organization, and directs the new student orientation (NSO) program. Her office also serves as liaison for the school's parents association (PALS).

Dr. Sharon Williams, Director of Outreach and Admissions
... is a member of the team originally assembled to start LSMSA and has served in several administrative roles. As DOA, she is responsible for initiatives aimed at recruiting students through outreach programs, visits to schools and communities, direct mail, and on-campus events. She leads the decision-making process as a new class of students is selected. She also coordinates all of the school's special public events such as the New Student Matriculation Ceremony, Senior Recognition, and the Graduation Ceremony.

Mrs. Judy McIntyre, Director of External Affairs
... joined the LSMSA administrative team in July, 2007 after serving for four years as the State Supervisor of Gifted and Talented Programs in the Louisiana Department of Education. As DEA, she is responsible for developing and expanding grant opportunities for the faculty and staff and for managing a public relations program that promotes the school using media outlets throughout the state. She is also the school's web master.

Mr. Derek Little, Director of Fiscal Affairs
... is responsible for operations in both the budget and physical plant offices. Annually, he prepares the operating budget and budget request to the state, and the Capital Outlay request. As DFA, he also serves as a liaison with the school's food service provider.

Dr. Richard Loftin, Louisiana Virtual School Site Coordinator
...has served as a member of the faculty since 1985.  When the school was asked to manage a distance learning program funded by the Board of Elementary and Secondary Education in the early 1990's, he became that program's director.  In 2000, that program evolved into the Louisiana Virtual School (LVS), which is operated by the Department of Education.  Dr. Loftin is responsible for the faculty and curriculum taught through LVS.  While it is not directly related to the instruction students receive at LSMSA, the Louisiana Virtual School is a virtual resource for schools to access online classes throughout the state.&n
