Senior Recogniton is held on the Friday evening before commencement exercises. Each graduting senior's college matriculation and scholarship awards are announced. Many graduating seniors are recognized for their achievements by academic and residential life departments with "Excellence" awards. Students who have successfully completed the requirements for Graduation with Distinction are introduced by their faculty mentor. The evening concludes with the induction of only a few students into the school's top honors. An anonymous committee comprised of faculty and residential life staff select recipients for the Spirit of the Louisiana School Award, Excellence in Work Service Award, Outstanding Arts Student, and the LSMSA Hall of Fame. At the conclusion of Senior Recognition, PALS (Parents Association of the Louisiana School) hosts a party in the LSMSA gym for all graduates, their families and friends, and their colleagues in the junior and sophomore class. (Participation in Senior Recognition and Commencement activities is required for juniors and sophomores.)
