Watch All Of Nintendo's Pre E3 Video

We've pulled a number of news stories from the live stream of Nintendo's pre E3 video, but here's your opportunity to check out the video for yourself. Posted on Nintendo's YouTube page, in the video Nintendo's president Saturo Iwata talks about the changes to the Wii U controller design, the new Wii U pro controller, and explains how social connectivity is at the heart of their new console. There are even a couple of hints about upcoming games, jump to 22:20 to see a 2D Mario game in action and some text that mentions a "flying squirrel" suit and a "baby Yoshi that balloons up to carry you". Check out the video below and to learn more about upcoming software be sure to tune in to Game Informer's live stream of their press conference on Tuesday morning at 9 PST.

  • Nintendo has impressed me. Can't wait for E3 tomorrow and Nintendo's conference Tuesday!
  • Watching the MTV awards, in preparation of staying in bed all day to watch the E3 event on Spike tomorrow
  • I will have to miss the live conference... so I will look forward to another post-video like this one!

  • That wasn't funny enough to get away with being bad.
  • well good to see that and cant wait to watch E3 on spike tomorrow.

  • Oooooooooooooooooooooooh...
  • We're all really just swimming in the ocean of life and there's occasionally a coral to scrape us but our fins recover and we keep on keeping on.
  • Is it bad that I skipped to the Mario bits?
  • Cool video. I really can't wait for E3 tomorrow.
EDIT: Is anyone else hoping for a name change? I can't stand the name and I do believe it can go with a better name.
  • Nintendo makes me happy. But i am confused now! and gotta love that japaneese accent x)
  • Biggest part to me was when they showed the xbox-style controller. Now you can play fps on nintendo?
  • The skit about halfway through is the funniest thing I've seen in a really long time. Funny in a bad way. Funny in a bad way, like Mr. Caffeine.
  • Is that potentially the next Legend of Zelda game at 10:09 or is it just a demo to show how well a game could look?
  • I was definitely impressed by what Nintendo showed. I wasn't expecting as much as what was shown. That WiiU Controller Pro and the entire MiiVerse thing were pretty awesome. The Miiverse in particular has a couple new features I really like.

After tonight, I'm sold on the hardware. Just show me the games on Tuesday, and it'll be a day one purchase.

  • Can't wait. This sounds like a great step forward. Screen Shots and gameplay element sharing. Also constant connectivity. Can't wait to see the games in action.
  • I'm starting campaign https://twitter.com/MikTheComposer/status/209465962808877058 :D
  • Wow is Nintendo out of touch with gamers, I can barely make it through this video
  • Who in the heck told this guy to communicate to people about a new console with no English, can't understand him and no excitement... This guy didnt excite me at all.. Their marketing director sucks... People need sold on the product, not told in a way that makes u fall asleep... Wow...
  • Yeah, the WiiU seems like it's going to be pretty dang cool. I think they actually may have the online issues from the past dealt with, we just need to see the marketplace.

Hopefully it comes bundled with the Pro Controller too.

That commercial in the middle, though, is just bad. I can deal with it, but if they go forward with advertising like that, it's going to turn a lot of people off the console.
  • This guy can barely speak English n they have him introducing the most important console to their future... I would be surprised if it flops... No little kid or grown up will be excited after that bulllcrap presentation
