Watch All Of Nintendo's Pre E3 Video

We've pulled a number of news stories from the live stream of Nintendo's pre E3 video, but here's your opportunity to check out the video for yourself. Posted on Nintendo's YouTube page, in the video Nintendo's president Saturo Iwata talks about the changes to the Wii U controller design, the new Wii U pro controller, and explains how social connectivity is at the heart of their new console. There are even a couple of hints about upcoming games, jump to 22:20 to see a 2D Mario game in action and some text that mentions a "flying squirrel" suit and a "baby Yoshi that balloons up to carry you". Check out the video below and to learn more about upcoming software be sure to tune in to Game Informer's live stream of their press conference on Tuesday morning at 9 PST.

  • Grade A Badasss!

  • ......woooo.................. more mario games............ how original.....................................good idea keeping up with the same character from like 30 years ago
  • I still contend that Wii U is a colossally bad idea. 3 years before the next gen, to release current h/w seems a little sketchy. But then, I'm not a Nintendo fan at all, quite honestly never played a Nintendo game in my life before (and don't want to), so I'm probably not the right person to asses the situation. Not my fault, really, Nintendo wasn't popular where I grew up, it was all PC gaming, so I was exposed and raised on completely different games (Doom, Quake, .5 Life, CS, XCOM, Fallout, etc, a far cry from kid-friendly titles like Mario and Zelda). Not saying Nintendo's games are bad or anything, quite on the contrary: if those characters have been successful for so many years then they are obviously doing something very right, they just don't appeal to me.
  • this was thoroughly unimpressive. there is nothing unique about any of this. the video in the middle with the guy playing the zombie game is just proof that nintendo is so out of touch with gamers that its not even funny. with that said i think the console has a lot of potential but nintendo needs to start catering to actual gamers.

  • Fantastic. Fanboys, why even comment?

  • the zombie commercial...really? are you effin kidding me? who the hell would "call" a random person when you can boot up your pc, use google on your phone, ipad or other tablet etc.? i agree with someone else that said before that this is a perfect example of how disconnected nintendo is from the gaming world. i used to have so much respect for nintendo
  • I love my non-specific action figures too!!!!!

  • I thought they were going after core gamers again.  Just more gimmicks, an even larger controller, an online "mii" connection system that once again no one will use.

  • Well that was sort of neat

  • I'm liking it so far.  Great ideas.

  • I expect WiiU to be priced at max 199$.

  • Old guy "Call me grandpa"

Gamer "that makes me feel uncomfortable"

    Lol I'm  impressed with Nintendo

  • Old guy "Call me grandpa."

Gamer "That makes me feel uncomfortable."

Lol I'm impressed with Nintendo Wii U

  • So this is just an add on to the current, Wii... A controller from Xbox and a huge controller with a screen =|
  • Deeply offended by the "gamer" in the tech thing...

  • that was a great presentation by Nintendo! Wara wara!

  • And everyone said the Wii U was going to suck. I am hyped for Tuesday's presentation. And yes, the commercial was cheesy (in a whimsical sort of way.)

  • I hope the first game they announce on Tuesday is "Hipster *** Hunter" and the first boss is Todd.

  • I want to say that I'm impressed, but I think that's because it's Nintendo making these changes.  Chat and tablet features like this aren't new, but the fact that Nintendo is actually focusing on an online experience is impressive.  I guess it's just relative.

Also, I like it when Iwata San says "doodle".

  • interesting... my interest has just been sparked.
