EUROBIRD™ 2 :: 25.5° EAST


EUROBIRD™ 2 delivers TV and radio broadcasting and broadband services. The coverage of the satellite is centred on the Eastern Mediterranean, making EUROBIRD™ 2 particularly attractive to broadcasters targeting markets in South-East Europe, Turkey, Libya, Egypt, the Caucasus and the Near and Middle East. A superbeam coverage includes Turkey, Libya, Egypt and surrounding regions.

EUROBIRD™ 2 was launched in 1997 as HOT BIRD™ 5 and used at 13 degrees East for DTH broadcasting of TV and radio programmes. In 2002, the satellite was re-located to 25.5 degrees East and given its present name.
