NBA 2K12 continues to run at a fever pitch in the second half of the shortened NBA season.  The Game of the Year edition is set to hit Best Buy store shelves next week, at a decent price of $49.99; and to help further celebrate the basketball season, Microsoft has added a new jersey to its Xbox Live Avatar line-up that New York Knicks fans in particular will take interest in.  Nope, it's not Carmelo Anthony.  It's Jeremy Lin!

NBA All-Star Steve Nash of the Phoenix Suns was asked a lot of trade deadline questions in Orlando. But one thing he enjoyed talking about was his videogame habits. There’s a reason Nash worked with EA Sports on the commercial for FIFA Soccer 12. He only plays FIFA when he’s gaming. Nash talks videogames in this exclusive video interview from Orlando.

Linsanity continues to captivate the world. And in Orlando, Jeremy Lin was a hot topic amongst the NBA All-Stars. New York Knicks NBA All-Star Carmelo Anthony fielded a lot of Lin questions. But one he did address was the upgrade of Lin in 2K Sports’ NBA 2K12 game. Lin actually received two player upgrades in one week because of his Cinderella story in the NBA. Anthony talks about the in-game player ratings in this exclusive video interview below.

Miami Heat 2012 NBA All-Star LeBron James has been having a career year during the strike-shortened season. With 66 games crammed into a short schedule, James hasn’t been able to play Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 as much as he’d like. The King talks videogames in this exclusive interview from Orlando.

While many NBA All-Stars complain about their ratings and believe they should have higher numbers, Boston Celtics star Rajon Rondo surprised the gaming world last year in Los Angeles by saying his character was overrated. And with his player rating now even higher, Rondo sticks with his assessment in Orlando. Rondo talks about videogames in this exclusive video interview below.

For the past couple of years, 2K Sports has literally dominated the paint with its NBA 2K series, starting with teaming up with Michael Jordan for NBA 2K11 and eventually other legends in NBA 2K12.  But now, EA Sports, a company that’s been out of the simulation basketball game since it scuttled its NBA Elite 11 project, is about to hit the hard court once again with the recently announced NBA Live 13.  The real question is, does it stand a chance?

Robert Griffin III, or RG3 for short, has been getting some major attention since he wrapped up his college football career at Baylor University.  He's been racking up big numbers at the NFL Combine this weekend, including setting a running record.  And while several NFL teams are in the hunt for him this coming season, he's still going to be in the forefront of college action, as EA Sports has announced today that RG3 will be on the cover of its upcoming NCAA Football 13, set to drop in stores this July.

After all of the negative stories surrounding the lack of big names in the Slam Dunk Contest and how horrible the NBA has been with its packed schedule post-lockout, fans tuned in to watch the festivities in Orlando. Not even the Academy Awards could keep hoops fans from seeing Dwight Howard, Kobe Bryant and LeBron James in action at the Amway Center. In an exciting conclusion to Sunday’s coverage, the West All-Stars, led by Oklahoma City Thunder forward and All-Star MVP Kevin Durant edged the East, 152-149. During one of the busiest and most-watched nights on television, TNT’s exclusive coverage of the 2012 NBA All-Star Game delivered an overall 5.4 US household rating in metered market overnights. The metered market rating is the second highest-rated overnight since 2005 (5.9 metered market rating). Houston Rockets All-Star Chase Budinger talks gaming in this exclusive video interview below.

EA Sports was at NBA All-Star 2012 in Orlando, which took place in the backyard of EA Tiburon – the new home to NBA Live 2013. Remember the old Midway Arcade Treasures releases?  Or for that matter, Midway’s Greatest Hits on the PS One?  I sure do.  I spent hours on end reliving the games of my youth thanks to these compilations, and I couldn’t get enough of them.  But ever since the company was scuttled a couple of years ago, I always wondered if they would come back in some form.  And while I would’ve preferred a release on a console over an iOS-enabled device, I’ll definitely take what I can get from Midway Arcade.  This is a collection of arcade bliss that everyone should experience.

Back in 1991, we didn’t worry about playing networkable games or developing strategies for first-person shooter battles.  Gaming was much simpler, a matter of just having fun with the likes of the SNES or, better yet, going to an arcade like Aladdin’s Castle to have a good time.  It’s here I first discovered Technos’ WWF Wrestlefest, a game that featured the likes of Hulk Hogan and the Legion of Doom battling in simple yet entertaining 2D action.  Now, 21 years (and several arcade closures) later, the Wrestlefest label lives on, thanks to a new App Store release from THQ.

While Kobe Bryant got most of the attention in Orlando, his Lakers teammate and NBA All-Star Andrew Bynum was also in town for the festivities. Bynum spends most of his free time playing EA Sports FIFA Soccer 12, rather than the 2K Sports basketball game NBA 2K12. The big man talks about his gaming in this exclusive video interview below.

NBA All-Star Kevin Durant will go down in history as a cover athlete without a game. The Oklahoma City Thunder star was featured in promotional photos on the cover of NBA Elite, an EA Sports game that was shelved and never hit stores. After a few years of no hoops, EA Sports is coming back with NBA Live 13 next season. And Durant is still open to being on the cover. He talks about the situation in this exclusive video interview below from Orlando.
