Howard, who was the cover athlete of Midway Games’ NBA Ballers: Chosen One, is now part of a new fitness and training game from THQ called adidas miCoach. Dwight Howard is joined by athletes like Kaka, Tyson Gay, Jessica Ennis, Ana Ivanovic and Eric Berry to serve as personal video trainers for gamers interested in sports like basketball, soccer, football, and tennis.

Peyton Hillis won’t be the only cover athlete on Madden NFL 12. EA Sports is bringing out a limited Madden NFL 12 Hall of Fame Edition, featuring former St. Louis Rams running back Marshall Faulk on the cover. Available on August 30th for the retail price of $89.99, a limited run of 125,000 copies of the Hall of Fame Edition will be available exclusively in the United States for the PlayStation 3 Xbox 360. Marshall Faulk will be the first Madden NFL cover athlete to be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame later this year. The game will be on display at E3 2011 in Los Angeles.

Sega will deliver its third straight simulation Olympics video game next year with London 2012 - The Official Video Game of the Olympic Games. Sega previously released simulations based on Beijing 2008 and Vancouver 2010. The game maker continues to work with International Sports Multimedia (ISM), the exclusive licensee of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), on these titles. London 2012 will be available for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 next year in conjunction with the Summer Games. But the game will be on display at E3 2011 in Los Angeles.

Things couldn’t have gone better for 2K Sports when it comes to this year’s NHL season. Cover athlete Ryan Kesler was named a co-captain of Team Staal at the NHL All-Star Game and took center stage for the weekend. Kesler, who had his best season on the ice, helped the Vancouver Canucks power their way past the San Jose Sharks and into the Stanley Cup Final. If Vancouver can win the Cup, it will be a nice swan song, of sorts, for the 2K Sports hockey franchise. Take-Two Interactive announced that they will no longer make hockey video games. Kesler talks about how he used the Wii game to improve his actual slap shot in the exclusive video interview below.
