Formed back
in 2005 appears this polis h band called Empatic
whose main debut comes in the form of a full length album called “Goods of Thousand Souls” issued
last year under the label Psycho Records.
This band
differs from most of their home mates
because in this case we find pretty strong thrash influences in their material,
not so in their sound which is very much into death metal.
The album
has a really killer sound, very well mixed and mastered, the end result reminds
me in certain passages the “Formation of Damnation” of Testament, however the
voice in case of Empatic is several tones lower and much more into death metal,
which helps strength the overall sound
adding some old school feeling.
The
drumming architecture is simply exquisite…high point in this album for sure,
not only for the sound that is a well balanced mix between natural/triggered
drums…but also for the intelligent work performed composed of intelligent
bridges, killer slow tempos build up with double blasts amazing…definitely…killer!!!
As you can
read, there are 11 songs, 1 of them is a cover from OMD (Orchestral
Manoeuvres in the Dark) which personally I would have excluded because has
nothing to do with the overall band proposal and in certain sense is like
fooling the band…like making joke of it…don’t know but someone took a very bad
decision here…
Despite the cheesy cover, the whole album is great and I can do nothing
more than recommend it due to its high quality in all departments, performance,
sound & composition, 4 pages full colour cover artwork….get in touch with
the band or the label to get your dirty hands over this one…won’t regret!!!
