Information
A special edition of the famous platforming game released as part of a raffle on the Japanese radio station "All Night Nippon". Levels have been taken from Super Mario Bros., the Japanese Super Mario Bros. 2, and the arcade VS. Super Mario Bros.
Some of the sprites have been updated to look like those in Super Mario Bros. 2, and several more have been changed to look like presenters and celebrities on the All Night Nippon radio station.
ANN Sprite Changes
Many of the graphics in this game were updated to represent the popular Japanese radio station, All Night Nippon (where this game could be won). Basic changes include the sky being black for most of the levels, but there were some interesting changes to the sprites as well.
Items/Enemies
- Little Goomba has been replaced with a walking head of (presumably) one of the DJs.
- Piranha Plant has been replaced with another grinning DJ.
- The Starman has been replaced with what appears to be the Star of David (unusual).
- The Axe in Bowser's lair has been replaced with the Fujisanke logo. Fujisanke is the Japanese broadcasting company that owns All Night Nippon.
- The flag that pops out of the castle now has the Fujisanke logo on it.
- The fence-posts in the background have been replaced with microphones.
Toad/Princess
Another change is the Mushroom Retainers you rescue at the end of each world. Rather than being the same each time, each one now represents a Japanese celebrity from the mid-80s. The Princess in world 8 has also been changed. They are shown here with the Worlds they appear in underneath.
Because the game takes levels from different games there are also stages A to D when you complete the game. The celebrity in levels A to C is the same each time, and then the celebrity on World D is the Peach replacement.
