Phra Si Rattana Chedi, located to the west of Phra Mondop, was built by King Mongkut, Rama IV, in 1855, modeled after Phra Maha Chedi in Wat Phra Sisanphet in Ayutthaya, to house the holy relic obtained from Sri Lanka. It was elaborately built in traditional Buddhist architecture. The enclosure where the holy relic is housed is about 60 centimeters from the ground, with a pagoda built over it, styled exactly after the Phra Si Rattana Chedi stupa, except that it is lacquered black.
