ANTI-DOPING

Competition Sport

The UIAA organises Ice Climbing as a competitive sport. Our athletes compete in international events such as the World Cups, World Championships and continental championships. Our aim is to get Ice Climbing included in the Winter Olympic Games and to develop new competition sports. We are committed to fair play, anti-doping and protection of the environment.

Ice Climbing

Ice Climbers conquer frozen waterfalls and icy overhangs in wild nature. The competitions are however held on specially built climbing structures, which make them a great spectator sport. Learn more

Ski Mountaineering

Ski Mountaineering competitions are governed by the ISMF (International Ski Mountaineering Federation)

Anti-doping

Play true is the motto of the World Anti-Doping Agency. Honesty has always been essential to mountaineering, because it is a self regulating sport.  If mountaineers are not honest when they claim ascents, we cannot trust each others accomplishments.
Now the UIAA is aiming to join the Olympic Games with our sports Ski Mountaineering and Ice climbing. Anti-doping is fundamental to fair competition. Therefore we take a stand for playing fair and against the use of performance enhancing drugs, in competitions and in the mountains. Learn more
