The Central Dauphin Rams are one of the original “8” Varsity Teams in the CPIHL, whose inception was the 1994-95 Season. The Rams have, over the years, established a fine winning tradition, and remain perennial contenders for the Bears’ Cup.
This is Coach Pat McKenna’a 1st Season as the Rams Head Coach. He was an Assistant Coach for the Rams last year and spent time as a Coach in the Hershey program, including winning a Bear’s Cup in 2009-2010. He is very much looking forward to the 2011-12 Season, and the run for the Bear’s Cup.
He will be joined on the bench by last year’s Head Coach, John Parker, who returns as an assistant and mentor to Coach MeKenna, long-time Assistant Coach John Elliott, and Assistant Coach “Doc” Blasenak.
This year the Rams will have a new look and will rely on returning forwards Zach Kenno, Justin Stockdale, and Dean Zerby who played a lot of minutes last year and return stronger and more experienced. They will be supported by talented forwards Austin Patton and Adam Tipple. The Offense looks to be solid again this year as the Rams have many of their forwards returning and with another year of experience for them, will look to put the puck in the net often again this year.
On the Blue-line the Defense will be anchored by Kyle Forney, who will provide stability with the support of returning Defenseman Alex Pankiw. The Rams will have two solid Goalies with Alex White in the #1 spot as he will prove to be a challenge for opponents to get past him. Backing him up will be Marc Fromherz.
Although the Rams are in transition the new look will be seamless with the Coaching staff remaining from last year and a lot of key players returning with a lot of experience and big game, playing time, which will prove helpful down the stretch. On paper the Rams look to be solid this year and should make another good competitive run at the Bears Cup. The key to their success this season again lies in how well they play together as a Team and the key words this year will be “Hustle and Hard Work”!
Coach Parker, his Coaching Staff, and the Team believe they can make an impact again this year and return to the Bears Cup Finals for the third straight year, with the third time being the charm!
