PRIME MINISTER MESSAGE

I am glad to know that the INTACH is celebrating its twentieth anniversary.
A brain-child of Smt. Indira Gandhi, the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage has emerged as a premier non-government organization dedicated to the preservation and promotion of our rich natural and cultural heritage. In association with the leading organizations of the world, it has undertaken important projects to carry out its activities across the country. Its contributions in promoting eco-tourism, listing our heritage structures and adopting two heritage villages each in Orissa and Himachal pradesh are noteworthy. It is non-governmental organizations like INTACH that can play a creative and purposeful role in preserving our heritage in a manner that our arts and crafts remain alive and are integrated into our daily lives.
On this occasion, I have great pleasure in extending my greetings and good wishes to all associated with INTACH for its future success.

(Manmohan Singh)
