No matter how
careful we are, dropping, dinging, or banging our cell
phones is going to happen. So what if the front of our
cell phone is cracked or damaged? Of course you can buy a
mobile phone fascia to replace it, or you can buy
phone
faceplates.
Faceplates are
much easier to install than fascias, therefore easier for
3rd party manufacturers create. There is a huge selection
of faceplates. You can find them at mobile phone stores,
mall kiosks, and online. Some of the more popular
designer brands such as Chanel, D&G, and Gucci also
make cell phone face plates. There are even online
services you can purchase to buy a custom designed
faceplate. But, if you want to stick out from your
friends, buying online will surely lead you to something
excited and unique.
It is also
important to distinguish between a face plate and a phone
cover. It seems a lot of people get confused over them.
phone faceplates are hard pieces of
plastic on the front side of your phone. It surrounds the
buttons, screen, and ear piece. A mobile phone cover is
basically a cover you can slide on and off your phone.
Scilicone covers are increasingly popular because of
their ability to give some grip to the phone, while not
being too bulky.

We’ve compiled a
few steps on how to change your faceplate
below:
Warning: Opening
your phone or tampering with it in any way may void your
warranty!
This is a general
guide for all phone models. Your model may be different
from our outline.
You will need some
tiny screw drivers such as those used for seeing
glasses.
1.
The first
important thing is to remove the battery. No matter how
small the battery, you don’t want any type of electrical
charges happening. They can be harmful to you and for
your phone.
2.
Place your cell
phone face down on a towel to prevent scratching. Open up
the battery door and remove the
battery.
3.
You may need to
use your finger nails or tweezers to remove the plastic
screw coverings. Remove all the screws that hole the
current face plate attached. Take off the face plate.
Make sure you have a small cup or something to put the
screws in. You don’t want to loose any of these tiny
screws.
4.
Put the new face
plate in place. Some models may require some force to
“snap them” in to place. Just be sure that that is the
case and you aren’t going to do damage to your
phone.
5.
Replace all screws
and plastic screw coverings. Then replace the
battery.
Now you have be
able to change phone faceplates
in a snap. This process shouldn’t take any longer than 30
minutes the first time around. One you do it a couple of
times, it shouldn’t take you any longer than 10
minutes.
