DAVE WHO?

Well, I've been the  music facts man for the Guinness Book of World Records for the last 12 years, and the Chief Consultant and Contributor to the Guinness Book of British Hit Singles & Albums since 1999.  In addition over the last twenty years I have written or co-written more than three dozen music research books (see below), and compiled LPs/written sleeves notes for about 1500 albums. Prior to that I spent 25 years in the record business (including A&R with Pye, RCA & DJM and MD of 20th Century) and was closely associated with over 60 UK chart entries. After completing a series of pop quiz books for the Official Charts Company and working on The Virgin Book of Hit Albums and The Virgin Top 40 Book, I updated my UK & US  Hit Singles book for Carlton and worked on the second volume of the Virgin Book of British Hit Singles (Pub Nov 2010). On this site I aim to share many of the facts I picked up and unearthed over those years.
