“The first person to talk to the Oracle and the first of the Veridan is also the founder of the Enclave. This makes Graidlon Marrow both hero and founding father for all those within the Enclave of the Five Sacrifices.“
Graidlon Marrow was born near the docks of Statue District on Quarterstone. He spent his childhood running around the twisting alleyways of the city and at a later age ventured into the mines that run underneath the city. Graidlon was very afraid of the war between the Enclave and the Princess of Skulls, and his work in the mines was merely an excuse to get away from the bloodshed. It is here, at the age of 23, that he came into contact with the being calling itself The Oracle in an underground cavern underneath Quarterstone. It is here that as the first mortal he undergoes the Ancestral Dream and within it, Graidlon is shown what he alone must do to stop the onslaught of the undead hordes of the Princess of Skulls. It is here that his life changes and he finally grasps the importance of the war that he wanted to get away from.
Graidlon, being of House Torque, manages to persuade the leaders of the five High Houses to send a delegation with him to the Scoured Citadel to act upon the visions showed to him by the Oracle. All four other houses sent a champion with Graidlon. House Maul sent Kaelmiannon Maul, House Silver sent Mhuiritsa Silver, House Shroud sent Sidor Vhey and House Rune sent Kunxon Lenga.
Together with the other house champions, Graidlon set out by Vhelgar steed for the Scoured Citadel which had creeped closer and closer to Quarterstone. Fighting his way through the Skull Hordes by the guidance provided through the Oracle. It is said that Graidlon managed to reach the bowery where the Princess of Skulls resided. Having lost all his companions in battle along the way, Graidlon faced the Princess alone. The outcome never was too clear though there are myths and legends in all possible variations. The only fact that remained, was that the Scoured Citadel took off into the Deadspell Storm and was never seen again.
Graidlon’s selfless venture and that of his four companions made it possible for the High Houses to build defences and forge a bond amongst each other. From that day on the Enclave of the Five Sacrifices came into being.
