“The greatest hero of the Spellborn universe is the woman that not only saved the Enclave, but also brought the Oracle and the Veridan back on speaking terms with the Enclave.”

Evhiel Muaun was born in the year 913 AC in the forest near Orchard Ring on Mount of Heroes. Evhiel didn’t have a pleasant youth. At an early age she was exposed to the horrors of the second Howler War and the dead and wounded were carried daily from Boltfort towards Orchard Ring. Sometimes the howlers would even emerge in the forests themselves. It made quite the impression on the young child and thus she swore that the suffering she witnessed every day would someday end and that she would be the one to make that happen.

At the age of 18 Evhiel was called by a voice to venture to the Temple of Awareness on Quarterstone. Being able to hear voices shocked Evhiel and for some time she was completely confused; she thought she was going mad. Hoping to stop her madness, Evhiel reluctantly quit her work of attending to the wounded of the Brotherhood of the Glaive that were valiantly protecting Mount of Heroes. And from Westdell Docks she set out for Quarterstone. There she immediately ventured to the Temple of Awareness at the city’s centre only to find it cordoned off by the Enclave. In trying and failing to gain entry to the temple, Evhiel witnessed the corruption and idolatry of not only High House officials but also most of the citizens of the Enclave. The voice had stopped, but something else within Evhiel Muaun had started and her old childhood promise set her heart ablaze. She would stop the decadent ways of the Enclave and guide them to a glorious future.

Evhiel decided to remain on Quarterstone and was glad to discover she was not alone in her goal. The Veridan, those closest to the Oracle, made contact with this ‘pesky girl trying to enter the Temple’.  The Veridan themselves were tolerated, but they were all but kept prisoner in the Palace itself. Even though it was a prison of luxury, some had tried to keep in contact with the outside world and thus Evhiel’s arrival had been great news.

Over the course of many years Evhiel gained a group of followers loyal to the true teachings of the Oracle but not directly aligning themselves to the Veridan. This rebellious group of “Oracle-lovers” was a thorn in the side of the High Houses, but as they were not militant there was little that could be done. In the end they did decide to arrest Evhiel and question her loyalties.

Evhiel was arrested by none other than Maul champion Tykaru Reywing and was escorted to an Enclave tribunal. There she turned the tables on the Enclave and instead of putting her to trial, she pointed to Enclave’s corrupt ways and close minded actions, insulting the High House leaders as deeply and gravely as possible. Fearing simply ousting her would actually strengthen her resolve and allow her to amass an armed force; Evhiel was sentenced to be exiled at first light to the prison Fragment of Hood's Belfry. It shocked the Enclave as the last time this had happened was over 250 years ago. Her escort would be Tykaru Reywing.

During the time it took Evhiel and Tykaru to reach the fringe of the Red Rim where the Hood’s Belfry Fragment resided, they had fallen in love. So much in love, that Tykaru became completely blinded and swore to her that he would help Evhiel to destroy the old ways of the Enclave. Thus, Tykaru betrayed the Enclave. The both of them seized control of the shardship and its crew and ventured deep into the Deadspell Storm to escape the Enclave’s grasp. They would remain there for a long time.

It was over a decade later that a stronger, wiser and more beautiful Evhiel Muaun came to Quarterstone. She handed herself in to the Palace Guards, yet demanded that she speak to the Enclave council. Both scared and intrigued by this sudden reappearance, the council agreed.  Evhiel then warned the council of the madness that had befallen her former lover and the Enclave’s former champion. Yes, they had plotted to overthrow the Enclave’s council but Tykaru did not merely want to cripple the Enclave’s leaders, he wanted to destroy the entire Enclave itself. To succeed in this he had allied himself with Ousted, Arionites even members of the Glaive who had just a few years earlier rebelled against the Enclave. This was not what Evhiel wanted, neither was it what she had promised herself all those years ago. Kneeling before the council she begged to be allowed entry to the Temple of Awareness and speak to the Oracle. But the Enclave council did not trust her and kept her locked up in a separate area of the Palace.

Only a few days later the first signs of Tykaru’s rebellion emerged and it was evident that war was imminent. Suddenly the council was more than willing to open the sealed gates of the Temple and to release the Veridan from the Palace as well.

Finally Evhiel Muaun entered the Temple of Awareness. Not a word was spoken and even the Veridan watched in awe as Evhiel stood there for hours. And then suddenly she disappeared in a bright light. The Veridan kept watch over the Temple and the next day she suddenly appeared again in the same bright light. She spoke and told everyone she had ventured into the Oracle’s Ancestral Dream and in this dreamlike state had been taught the means to defeat Tykaru.

Immediately and without hesitation, Evhiel and the council retreated into the Palace. The Veridan were reinstated as keepers of the Temple of Awareness and were given the means to act freely again. For two years the Enclave fought Tykaru and his Reavers under guidance of Evhiel Muaun and her insights proved to be crucial in saving the lives of many.  And then suddenly in 950 AC, Evhiel Muaun requested a shardship and set out into the Deadspell Storm “to confront her former lover and lure him away from the Enclave”. After days she lured  him away from it and both ships could be seen chasing each deep into the Deadspell Storm. Without leadership Tyakru’s forces fell apart and the Enclave claimed victory. In honour of the Oracle all old decadent ways and idolatry were abolished from the Enclave: the glorious future Evhiel had promised her people had finally come now that she herself was gone.

What ultimately happened to Evhiel and Tykaru is unknown to all. It is rumoured they are both very much alive and that they are still chasing each other till this very day…
