Crown Company Monitoring Advisory Unit

CCMAU is an agency of the New Zealand Government that:
- monitors the Government’s investment in companies owned by the Crown,
- assists with the appointment of directors to Crown company boards,
- provides performance and governance advice to shareholding Ministers.
CCMAU monitors:
- state-owned enterprises,
- Crown research institutes,
- other Crown entity companies,
- some statutory entities, and,
- the Crown’s shareholding in a shipping line and three airports.
We refer to them collectively as ‘Crown companies’. These companies provide important products and services for New Zealanders and make a significant contribution to the national economy and well-being.
