The Artas Folklore Center was founded in 1993 with the aim of preserving traditional Palestinian heritage. It is the first project of its kind, a specialized center functioning in a historical building, located in the natural setting of a Palestinian village. It participates actively in festivals and organizes its own festivals. The center includes a small museum housing a photographic record of traditional Palestinian life. It organizes training courses for women and girls (sewing, agriculture and flower arranging). It also organizes a Day for Palestinian Popular Heritage celebrations.
