Preventing Spam

Measures that can be taken to help prevent spam, whether by end-users, ISPs or marketers.

By taking care about the way you use email it is possible to reduce the volume of spam that reaches your inbox.
ISPs have much in their power that can be done to to deter, identify, and catch spammers. That they must wait for the email to roll into the abuse desk before they can do anything is a myth.
In a nutshell: if you direct market, get the recipient's permission.
Don't be complacent; if you leave systems misconfigured in some common ways, a spammer will take advantage.
People are fed up with the filtering arms race, and want a better way. Might it be found here?
