E3: Threediots is the killer app the 3DS has been needing
The absolute highlight of yesterday's special E3 3DS press conference was, undoubtedly, the unveiling of Threediots, a new 3D pulp comedy show that will air on the handheld's Nintendo Video channel. As you can see, it is literally the most amusing thing in the world and Nintendo knows its fans will enjoy it very much. It is tough to decide which part of the trailer is the most hilarious. The bit with the funny screaming or the bit with the funny costumes that are funny. Nintendo described the show last night as both "wacky" and "zany" so you know it's going to be top notch. Nothing ever described as wacky or zany has failed to be brilliant. Apart from, say, everything. I want to just cut my rectum to ribbons with shards of broken glass. Threediots. It looks like it was made by some freshman in college. In fact, I could swear that I basically cut together a trailer for something this crappy as a freshman, minus the "budget." I don't know, I could see how someone might think that Jim's remark was reinforcing how much he loved Threediots, and that he does, in fact, enjoy having his rectum cut to ribbons. While Jonathan Holmes watches. In awe. Smiling. Nintendo Video on occasion has some really good stuff, but it also has stuff like this. Then I tried to watch the first ep last night on my 3DS, but had to turn it off way before it was over. It's like they gave 5th graders cameras and said "hey, go be zany!" Seriously, Nintendo has lost its way and lost me as a customer. Hey Sterling!
