In November 2008, we discovered an issue that allowed players to create multiple items for certain treasures and rewards in areas such as Salvage and Assault by exploiting the game system.
The issue was fixed during emergency maintenance on November 26, 2008. However, we discovered that some players had already exploited the issue and used it to gain additional items before it was addressed. We then investigated more than a year's worth of logs throughout all areas.
As a result of the investigation, approximately 400 players were temporarily suspended based on the evidence gathered. Approximately 550 players who committed more serious misconduct had their accounts banned.
We are working hard to ensure that these kinds of issues do not occur again in FINAL FANTASY XI. However, if you discover any problems with the game system, please submit a GM call or fill out the feedback e-mail form to report the problems to us, instead of exploiting or spreading the issue.
We thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

This Fansite's contributors are highly professional and the website runs like a well oiled machine. With so many great mmorpg databases out there, it takes alot to be recognized as the leader and IGN-Vault meets those requirements with more to spare. Now that Pandemonium Warden has been defeated what do you think will come next? Will fighting him become more main stream or do you think changes are coming to make him unbeatable again? It’s been a few months now since this very difficult HNM was put into the game, (difficult is putting it lightly) he has been a hot topic for most end game LS and now only time will tell what the future holds for this NM he has undergone patches, and many news posts and has sparked the interest of not just the end game community but of the entire gaming community. You may remember a couple months back when players were made physically ill while attempting to defeat him well now the players have had their revenge and payback is a bitch. Be sure to vote on what you think will happen next and as always our forums are always open for discussion.

The Apathy linkshell on Remora has successfully defeated the final boss in the ZNM system known as the Pandemonium Warden. This is the first recorded defeat of the monster ever since it was adjusted several months ago after it was reported that a shell had fought it for 18 hours and were unable to defeat it. The notorious monster now seems to have only 10 forms as opposed to its original 20. This means that if you want enough time to fight the final form of the warden (one hour), you need to kill each of his forms in around seven minutes.
One of the largest obstacles for players trying to defeat this monster was it’s ability to use Astral Flow, a move that would easily defeat the entire group fighting it. The strategy used to avoid this was to have most of the players log out before it would astral flow so they would be unaffected by the attack and would then be able to continue to fight after logging back into the game. It’s very unlikely that this was the strategy the developers intended players to use when fighting this monster. Which brings us to the bigger question of this article.

Our Endgame specialist Fadian has delivered a brand new guide today, the exciting epic Einherjar!
It's the new year, and what better way to start it off then by talking about one of my favorite events in the game still today. Einherjar was released last year as part of a bonus to alleviate the stress of camping HNM for the Abjurations that people mostly wanted. I will be splitting this article up into 3 parts to be posted a week within each other. I will be breaking down in each article the tiers and what to expect from them, such as mobs you needs to fight to the bosses and the simple strategy to use to take them down. In the last article I will then go into the Odin fight, which I have to say is one of the best and most challenging fights in the game, besides Absolute Virtue and Pandemonium Warden.
For this week’s YouTube Video of the week we start with a touching tribute done with screenshots for a group of friends on Phoenix server.
Our second video today looks at how one FFXI player deals with maintenance and waiting for it to be over. It’s mostly real life video, but thought it was fun quirky video so be sure to check it out below >^.^<
The last few version updates have had a great deal of content and changes lot of fun new additions such as Maze Mongers. Many of the changes have also focused on making the game easier everything from lowering the difficulty of G2 mobs, to increasing drop rates of G1 and sub job items. This week’s poll we ask “Has the game become too easy” be sure to take a minute to vote in our latest poll!
As always we have the results from last week so keep reading to find out more!
As always be sure to leave a comment in our forums too letting us know about your opnions on all these changes on the game.
The latest PlayOnline screenshot of the week features a party having fun with costumes, one clearly has the coveted Pullus Torque that turns you into a baby chocobo, all around a fun screenshot hope everyone enjoys >^.^<

Rumours have been going around for a while know about an FFVault contest I’ve been wanting to run but whether it’s legal, or site issues or act of Altana, I could not for the life of me get the contest out. But now I’m pleased to present the first contest since I’ve taken over the vault. Due to time restraints the signed CD with harpsichord in game code expired but never fear to make up for that we are giving away none other then a code for a nomad moogle shield to make up for the harpsichord. Now what do you have to do you ask it’s simple just make an mp3 of yourself (or a friend) singing a jingle. The jingle can be based on anything having to do with Final Fantasy XI. Please remember it must be tasteful as the game is meant for players of all ages =P for an official list of the rules and regulations as well as the scoring system or more information please go to the Rule page which can be found Here
Contest will run from Friday January 9, 2009, to 11:59 PM [PT] on Saturday, January 24, 2009
