Alban's brought us yet another chapter from his series, From Boy to Legend. This chapter is entitled The Dread Dragon. Here's a piece:
Gunther and Alban Finre walked through Ronfaure forest making there way to Ghelsaba. Alban had thought it a good idea to leave Leon out of this. It may have been too much for him. It wasn’t a long trip as Denbigh had said. They both saw the wooden fences that separated Ghelsaba from Ronfaure. It was odd, but fortunate that they saw no sign of Orcs. Actually there were no signs of any hostile life blocking their entrance. They both saw a cave not long after the sightings of the wooden fences. Alban stopped to look around the cave, just for caution. Gunther marched right in. Alban sighed and followed him into the cave.
In the fanart section we have new work from Valkyrist, this time a mithra Dragoon. Then we have a touching piece from Landura. sL sent us a weapon design piece. Fenlain did a Hume Monk piece in Painter. Then Aenkelle sent us two works, both Character sketches. Then we have from Ladyviv 1 fanart and 2 WIP pieces. We also got a WIP piece from Nick S. Then 2nd stage of his mithra piece!.
In the comic section we have new works from Diane, Matt H., Chaotzu, and a screenshot comic from Pashmee. We also got another WSC piece from Raide. Good job guys! keep up the great work!
She doesn't stop! Nadia, once again has come up with a new skin for the site, this time for Final Fantasy VI. I thought FFVII would be my favorite, but somehow they just keep getting better and better! As usual you can customize the site skin options by choosing your skin through the navigation bar up top below the header. You must have cookies enabled for it to work properly.
The next skins we plan to have is for FF:CC and FFIX. Hopefully we can have a skin to suit everyone's needs.
As I said before, we're in the middle of expanding the site to include the entire Final Fantasy series. One of our current staff members, hunter4444cjv is helping out with the project, and Nadia has been doing a great job with some skins for the site, but obviously we're going to need some help. We'll be covering all Final Fantasy games, from Final Fantasy I up to Final Fantasy XII, and everything in between. Yes, that includes games like Final Fantasy Tactics, Mystic Quest, etc...
What we plan to do is pretty much make this a 1 stop site for anything and everything Final Fantasy related, from game walkthroughs, to game and character descriptions, skills, item/armor/weapon databases, bestiary database, maps, and whatever else comes up. What we need is around 5 staff members to help gather the information and build these sections.
What are the requirements? You have to love the console side of the Final Fantasy series, and have played a lot of the games. HTML is not required, but it would be helpful. You must be able to work in teams as well as by yourself. Being motivated is a definite must. Keep in mind the position is volunteer just like the rest of staff, however the usual staff perks do apply. So, if this sounds like something you're interested in, send me an email!
Once again we have a new music video, this one submitted by Barry Barnes and is entitled "Endless Heart". It's a combination of a whole bunch of cutscenes from various games. You can check it out on our movies page.
In the fanart section we have one submission from Nick S., who also sent in step 01 for a WIP(work in progress) piece. Then in the comic section we have new work from Kateko, Sayre, Diane and Fiye. We also got a new photoshop piece from Tim S. Last but not least we have our first WSC submission for the week from Sayre. Nice wrok everyone!
Nadia aka Sakaba is at it again, she's made another skin for the site, and thanks to a new feature we have you can now customize the site to use the skin of your preference. If you take a look at the top of our page there's the line of skins, the default skin is FFXI, and the new skin is FFVII. As I said before, we'll be adding more skins for each game over time and eventually I hope to have the entire Final Fantasy series.

Today along with the update, I have added another Category to the Art section. This one is titled WIP! (Work in Progress), thanks to Ladyviv for the idea!, she sent in the first image, which is her color work of the sketch I did for Myrri, that will be posted in the section. This is how it will work. As the artist works on their artwork, they will send in stages of the work in progress. So everyone can see how their work is done. I plan on doing this with one of my wallpapers at some point. So I hope everyone has fun with this new section! Let me know if you have any questions.
Also to add a note to this. If you want to color one of the Artist's work from the site, please contact them BEFORE you color their work, so that you have permission. I will NOT post any work that I don't have permission from the original artist on. Post under the work you want to use, thier most recent work, or email me to ask for you.

Learont was quietly sitting in his quarters sipping a glass of wine. He looked over to the right wall with a smile. “Come out my love. You know I can see you.” A Hume woman came out of the shadows. She was dressed in light black garbs, the type a Ninja would typically wear. “Nothing gets past you. You take the fun out of sneaking up on you.” The woman said taking her seat upon Learont’s desk. She was tall and had lengthy black hair. The woman had a smooth curved body, one that would appeal to most men. She had exotic green eyes, and in every way she was beautiful. “I hope you called me for something other than our usual business?” She said with a sly look.

In this world, we are all created equal. In the vana'diel world, we are all created equal as well. No matter what job you hold, what kind of personality you have, or even the things you own, there is nothing that says "you have the right to think you are better then someone else", because of these things. To say that majority of people think this way would be hoping for just a little too much in today's society. With that said, what makes a person in-game think that their job is better then another?

Message To Windows XP Users
Due to the firewall function of Windows XP Service Pack 2 which was recently released by Microsoft, a dialog may appear when you attempt to use the PlayOnline Viewer or FINAL FANTASY XI. If such a dialog appears, please select "Unblock" and you will be able to continue to play normally. This dialog can also appear after returning to the PlayOnline Viewer (in windowed mode) from FINAL FANTASY XI.
If "Keep Blocking" is selected, you may become unable to connect. By performing the following steps, it is possible to "Unblock" PlayOnline and FINAL FANTASY XI.
1. From the Start menu, select Start -> Control Panel and select "Windows Firewall."
2. Click the "Exceptions" tab to display the application registration screen.
3. If "PlayOnline Viewer" is displayed on the list, check the box next to it. If "PlayOnline Viewer" is not displayed, select "Add Program" and register the POL.EXE file from the folder where you installed PlayOnline.
4. Select "OK" and exit the "Windows Firewall" to complete the process.

Ok on to the art new now. In the fanart section we have a chibi attack from Cilani, in color!. Then Aaeradon has finished another piece, this time its a Hume DRK. Genken, a new artist to the section, also sent in a DRK piece. Knightrunner sent in 3 works, 2 moogle pieces and a Dragon. Then Matt H. sent us a pencil drawing of a Taru. In the comic section we have new works from Kyle,Dianex2, Aenkelle, Wyno, and Adam aka Ivan. We got one more WSC for today from Raide. Great work everyone!
It seems the new popular thing this week is music videos, we've got quite a few submissions already so far. Today I have a new music video by Saeryn which I thought was pretty funny, Taru's are the main theme this time. Here's the description provided by Saeryn.
Everyone always sees the Tarutaru as some very cute, very benign race. But what if they can be something different?

As you can see we're back up and running and have a new look. I'd like to thank Nadia aka Sakaba for making the new graphics, she did a wonderful job as I'm sure you'll all agree and I know she's been eagerly waiting for the changes to go live.
With that said, we now have the ability to have multiple skins, though at the moment we have just the one. Over time I plan to add some new skins for other Final Fantasy games, and maybe if there's enough interest even run a contest to give you guys a chance to make a skin. More details on that to come later.
Also note that comments for news are now integrated into the VNBoards so it will create a thread on the FF General Discussion forum. I made some other changes to the site tonight so I may have broken something in the process, if you see anything that looks broken or colors that don't match up with the new skin, or just general comments about the new look in general, feel free to post a comment. I know this is old news to some, it has been up for quite some time now on Fileplanet, but someone sent me an email the other day with a link to a music video and I have to say it is quite good. They use various cut scenes from FFIX and they made a music video to the song "In The End" by Linkin Park. Check it out right here.
Maybe it's just because I'm a fan of the band, but I thought the music video was pretty cool and it reminded me of how much fun I had with FFIX. *looks over at the poll* A shame not that many enjoyed it as much as others, I thought it was a great breath of fresh air after FFVII and FFVIII being set in a more futuristic setting compared to the rest of the series. I guess the fact that so many people started with FFVII as their first Final Fantasy game could be a reason. Anyways, I'll stop rambling.
In the fanart section we have wrok from new artist Fuyo, of a Taru. Then we have a PLD and DRK piece from Zealet. Finally I finished coloring Aaron's gift art of Sakaba and Kylessa, its all colored and in wallpaper sizes. Then in the comic section we have work from Sayre, Pashmee, Diane, Meowth, and Fiye. For the WSC section we got one submission from Diane.
We have a new music video submitted by DHX that is recorded with the song "Requiem of a Dream". It's around 4 and a half minutes long and would be good for those of you new to the game or thinking of picking up the game and would like to see the style of graphics FFXI has. In the fanart section we have our first submission for this weeks theme, Ramuh by Mallari. Then I posted a sketch of a request piece that I did for Myrri of Midgardsormr. Then we have the comic section with new comics from Diane, Aenkelle, and George L. Then we have some Photoshop works from Diane, and the colored version of the Myrri sketch, which is also a wallpaper. In the WSC section we have our first two submissions from Malakym and Cyberglider. Good work everyone!

The night of Iceday chilled Brin to the bone as he sat next to the fire. Looking around, he thought to himself, “Rabao….so beautiful in its own respects. How long has it been? Two? Three weeks? Seems like I have not been here so long yet now it is time to return home.” Brin then thought back to when he had first arrived in the Altepa desert.

Once again, as Heuro noticed, Tirelon was whittling at his piece of wood. The night was just like the night before, yet deep in Heuro’s chest, something was stirring. The Elvaan felt inexplicably unsettled, and wondered why. It wasn’t their position. They were still in the Tahrongi. It wasn’t the mood. It had been dusty, dark and desolate in the canyon as usual. It wasn’t the flashing campfire. It wasn’t that Fredro had been bickering with Kella for the larger part of the last hour. All of these things had occurred the night before, and the night before the night before. Heuro glared into the night, trying to fault his disturbed heart on whatever lay hidden by the dust and darkness.
