Chris's teacher yells at the Jewish boy for wearing a hat in his class. But Chris also wears a hat and the teacher doesn't even seem to notice.
The sign outside of the studios at NBC reads: We used to have Seinfeld, remember?

In the scene where Brian slaps Peter for annoying God, the pictures of Stewie, and Chris on the wall change positions between each shot. It appears that Peter was animated facing the wrong direction, and they needed to flip the shot.
Peter (as he writes a letter to FOX): If you don't put "Coach" back on the air, I'll be really upset. The skillful acting of Craig T. Nelson will be missed a lot. Signed Peter Griffin.
Lois: Peter, come help me with the groceries. (Peter unknowingly spills White-out on the paper, making it say "If you don't put Coach back on the air, I'll kill Craig T. Nelson." Then it cuts to Craig T. Nelson knocking on Peter's door as Peter answers it.)
Peter: Craig T Nelson!
Craig T Nelson: Hi, are you Peter Griffin?
Peter: Yes.
Craig T Nelson (as he holds out a gun): Make it quick.
Peter: We gotta save Gumbel 2 Gumbel, and we're gonna do it Griffin 2 Griffin.
(Lois is giving Stewie a bath)
Peter: Hey Stewie. I see your bum.
Stewie: Well take a good look, fat man. And while you're at it, take pictures so I have something to bring with me to court, you wretched pervert.
[Stewie's bathwater turns to blood]
Stewie: How positively delightful, it is as if someone stabbed Mr. Bubble!
Brian: Peter, the final plague is the death of the first born son.
Peter: Oh no Stewie!
Brian: The first born son.
Peter: Meg!
Brian: Your wife.
Peter: Chris!
Peter: I want to have the kind of father and son relationship that the Gumbels have.
Lois: Peter, the Gumbels are brothers.
Peter: Oh nice Lois, just because they're black we can't learn anything from 'em?
Brian: Peter, this is the final plague!
Peter: Good cause this is starting to get old.
Peter: Hey Lois, give Chris a break. I mean, no TV? So he failed a class, it's not like he felt up his cousin in the garage that one time when I was 19.
Peter: I look like a freakin' Emmy! (to the camera) Hint, Hint.
Peter: When did God ever say he didn't want someone else being worshipped like him?
Lois: It's one of the Ten Commandments.
Peter: Oh, come on Lois, those were written like 200 years ago. Times have changed.
Peter: I'll handle it Lois. I read a book about this sort of thing once.
Brian: Are you sure it was a book? Are you sure it wasn't nothing?
Peter: Oh yeah.
Peter: Lois, anyone who wouldn't pretend their own son is dyin' to get the Gumble's back on TV is a racist. There. I said it.
Chris: Are you sure this'll work?
Peter: Chris, this is just another one of your crazy schemes.
Chris: But this whole thing was your idea.
Peter: You'll find out.
Chris: Dad, you're not makin' any sense.
Peter: You just leave that to me.
Peter: You gonna eat that stapler?
Calahan: Umm... you can't eat a-
Peter: Wanna split it?
The Channel 5 manager is named after Family Guy staffer Steve Callaghan.
At the television pitch meeting, all of the executives are keen on a show about a single woman working at a magazine. During the late nineties, there were a number of programs that aired concurrently with similar premises. Caroline in the City, Suddenly Susan and Just Shoot Me! all involved single women working for magazines among a cast of eccentric characters.
The Grant-A-Dream foundation is an allusion on the real charity the Make-A-Wish foundation, who grant the wish of a child or teen if they have Cancer, Leukemia, or Cystic Fibrosis.
Back to the Future
Announcer: Rufus Griffin stars in, Black to the Future!
This is a parody of the famous movie trilogy, Back to the Future. It is also a reference to the numerous movies in the seventies that were considered Blaxploitation. Movies that were blatant rip-offs of another concept, but were simply made to be more "black" A classic example of this is Blackula.
