Quagmire's license plate says BUSHMAN.
Stewie: I say, Rupert, this paste is delicious. It's almost worth the bowel obstruction!
Joe: Hey, Quagmire! You wanna come camping with us?
Quagmire: Sorry, boys. The only tent I'm gonna be pitchin' this weekend is... well, you can see where I'm goin' with this. Oh!
Cleveland: I can't believe how terrible the fishing was.
Peter: Yeah, all we caught was a tire, a boot, a tin can, and this book of clichés.
Stewie: Feeling weak... fight it, Stewie! "Do not go gentle into that good night", to quote Bob Dylan. (Faints, then quickly rises) No, no. Dylan Thomas. (Faints again)
Joe: Nice going, Peter.
Peter: Yeah, up yours, Joe.
Joe: What?
Peter: Thanks.
Peter: Lois, you know I swore I'd never clean again. Not after Bounty dropped me as their spokesman.
(Flashback)
Peter: Wait a second. Rosie, I've just poured this glass of warm yellow liquid on the counter and you're telling me that Bounty can pick it up in five seconds?
Rosie: What is this?
Peter: Four seconds.
Rosie: Is that...
Peter: Three seconds.
Rosie: It smells like...
Peter: Clean my pee!
Caddy Manager: Hey, you that Griffin boy's father? Patty Tanager, the caddy manager. Yeah, it rhymes, big whoop, wanna fight about it?
Doctor: Hum, 29 pounds, that's big for your age.
Stewie: Well forgive me for not being one of those anorexic babies from the diaper commercials.
Lois: Look what I found Stewie. [Holds up post card] An appointment card, you've got a check-up.
Stewie: Oh marvelous. A quick a weigh in, a "stick out your tongue", and a nice lollipop to cap it all off. Oh and remind me to ask the doctor when my other testicle is going to descend.
Lois: Oh Meg, here's your little baby booties. And your little bronze hat. And your tail.
Meg: My what?
Lois: Nothing.
Meg: Mom, I can't clean, I've got stuff to do.
Lois: Meg, we all know you don't have stuff to do.
The Little House on the Prairie opening was actually not shown on FOX for the premiere, but restored for FOX reruns. Similar to the opening to Brian in Love.
This was the last episode of Family Guy to air for almost 11 months. The show was renewed at the 11th hour by Fox, but due to the nature of animated shows most of the writers had taken new jobs. Once a new writing team was hired it would still take at least 8 months to produce another episode. Fans eagerly awaited the third season, however would then have to face a three-year wait between season 3 and season 4.
Bambi
On the fishing trip, after both Joe and Cleveland refuse to become Chris' surrogate father, a buck says, "I'll teach the boy". This alludes to the 1942 Disney classic, Bambi, in which Bambi's absent father takes charge of him after his mother is shot by hunters.
Stewie: Getting dizzy! Fight it, Stewie. "Do not go gentle into that good night," to quote Bob Dylan. No, no, Dylan Thomas."
Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night is a famous poem by Dylan Thomas, a Welsh poet. This poem was published in 1951, and was written for his dying father.
Stewie: I used it to make the boat from Surfside 6
Surfside 6:
Three young private investigators live on a houseboat in Miami Beach, Florida, that also serves as their office. The adjoining yacht is occupied by wacky socialite Daphne Dutton, and the Fontainebleau Hotel across the way features their friend, singer Cha Cha O'Brien. Ken Madison had formerly been located in New Orleans, on the series Bourbon Street Beat.
Producer: You think he's on to us, Kristov?
When Peter is camping, he says "it's almost as if this world were created especially for me." We then see two guys looking at a panel of monitors in some kind of control station looking room. One of the guys says "You think he's on to us, Kristov?" Krisov says "No, he's an idiot." This is a reference to the 1998 Jim Carrey film "The Truman Show" in which Truman Burbank was born and raised in a giant dome and, unbeknownst to him, his entire life is televised 24 hours a day.
Brian: T and Me by George Peppard
This is a reference to the fact that George Peppard, who played Hannibal in The A-Team alongside Mr. T (who portrayed B.A Baracus), despised Mr. T and hated the fact that Mr. T had gotten more famous than he had.
