    Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan took part in the opening of six yards in Malatia-Sebastia district improved within the framework of yard improvement program of the municipality of 2011. It is noteworthy that these well-arranged yards used to be illegally occupied by the residents and were used as “kitchen gardens”...
    The heads of three administrative districts were awarded with the Gold medal of the Mayor of Yerevan

    Manvel Javadyan, Arthur Gevorgyan and Araik Kotanjyan, the heads of  Avan, Davtashen and Kanaker-Zeitun districts which took the first three places in the result of assessment and analysis of the work done according to spheres in 2011, were awarded with Gold medals of the Mayor of Yerevan by the decision of the Mayor of Yerevan..

Climate conditions

Yerevan is located in 2 zones. In the height of 850-1000 m the climate is desert-semidesert, in higher parts it is a dry steppe zone. The soil is different: grey and brown soils are dominated. The duration of sunlight reaches 2700 hours. Average annual temperature of the air is 8,8 – 11,6 degrees centigrade, average annual variation of temperature is 310. >>

In accordance with the 18th article of the RA Law «On holidays and memorial days in the Republic of Armenia» and the the RA Government decree 882-N dated 23.06.2005, the second Saturday of October is celebrated as Yerevan day. >>
