CNE HorseCapades Starting August 3rd, 2010 - Horse Palace A delightful and free introduction to horses, the CNE interactive horse program is designed for the young and the young at heart! HorseCapades sweeps you away from city life and into the magical world of the horse. The program allows visitors to: Plus games, contests, prizes and much more! CNE HorseCapades takes place every day starting August 3rd, 2010 from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. as part of our expanded Horse Show. Admission is free before the CNE opens and free with admission to the CNE August 20th to September 6th, 2010.
CNEA Horse Show! Competitions: August 2nd to 29th, 2010 - Ricoh Coliseum The CNE Horse Show Competitions and the popular CNE HorseCapades interactive program will return for the 2010 CNE. All events take place in the Horse Palace and Ricoh Coliseum and admission is FREE before the CNE opens, and free with the price of CNE admission from August 20th to September 6th, 2010.
Light Horses (Under 1600 lbs.) August 2nd to 4th, 2010 - Ricoh Coliseum Performance Classes of light horses include Hackney Horses, Hackney Ponies, Road Horses, Shetland Ponies, Morgans and Saddlebreds. Horses in this division will be judged being driven and shown individually on halter. Performance, manners, (way of going) and equipment are the main judging criteria for these individual breeds. Special classes of teams of horses and/or ponies demonstrating the horse and driver’s ability to communicate while maneuvering through obstacles and against the clock, will be featured. Light Horse Youth Classes for girls and boys 21 years of ages and under demonstrating their skills in: Riding - their ability to communicate with their horse in order to execute the judges’ commands. Showmanship - their ability to present a horse in a specific pattern. Please see below for prize list and entry forms :
Heavy Horses (More than 1600 lbs.) August 6th to 8th, 2010 - Ricoh Coliseum Performance classes of Heavy Horses including Percheron, Belgian, and Clydesdale breeds will be judged on their performance and conformation, hitched to a wagon in the following configurations: single horse, team, unicorn, four and six horse hitches. Individual classes of Belgians will be judged on their bone and body structure and their ability to improve the breed with their offspring. Ages will range from three months to ten years of age and are shown on the halter. Heavy Youth Performance Classes for boys and girls 21 years of ages and under demonstrating their ability in: Showmanship - their ability to present a horse in a specific pattern Decoration - their ability to prepare a horse for competition The Art of Judging - youth participants will be presented with a class of horses to evaluate and place, providing the reason for and justification of their placement. Jumper Horse Division August 9th to 11th, 2010 - Ricoh Coliseum Jumpers - horses ridden will be judged on their ability to get over the jump without knocking it down and often racing against the clock. Please see below for prize list and entry form:

Miniature Horse Division August 28th & 29th, 2010 - Ricoh Coliseum The Miniature Horse Show returns. The events will include conformation classes, obstacles, hunter & jumper and several different driving classes. The miniature horse, no taller than 38" at the withers is a very versatile breed which excels in many disciplines. The popularity of this breed is growing. This is the perfect opportunity to see everything they can do and to talk to breeds. These little horses always put on a great show. Please see below for Classes Only and Entry Forms:
