The US race for the Democratic nomination may seem a million miles away from comic books, but as soon as news hit that IDW's new horror comic, Snaked!, had sold out of its first issue, a couple of anonymous emails hit the CV news desk - alleging that IDW censored part of that issue due to controversial content.
As unlikely as it may sound, the allegations surround certain acts being performed by Bill and Hillary Clinton, and it's possible that someone highly connected with the pair "requested" the upper echelons of IDW to ensure such art never saw the light of day.
I put the question of one of these allegations directly to the writer, Cliff Meth, who was reluctant to comment until I asked:
Craig: So Cliff, does your script actually have a woman going down on Hillary?
Cliff: Jesus Murphy, Craig--how did you guys get that?
Craig: Oh, we have our sources.
Cliff: Cheeky bastard!
One of these sources promised to provide scans of the art after both Meth and artist Rufus Dayglo refused to comment any further on the existence, or non-existence of any such work.
The second email purported to be from a Hollywood studio, saying that already Snaked! has been signed to a development deal, with Meth down as screenwriter.
I've requested copies of the art, plus interviews with IDW, Meth and Dayglo, and CV will run an exclusive Guest Sermon as soon as more is known.
Stay tuned!
