The Dubai Emirate is the second largest
Emirate in the United Arab Emirates, the largest of which being
Abu Dhabi. The Emirate extends over a total area of approximately
3900 square kilometers a large portion of which is made up of
desert. The capital of the Dubai Emirate is the city of Dubai
which is located in the northern area of the UAE. The city is
divided into two parts by the Dubai Creek which runs roughly
down its centre. |
Bar Dubai is located at
the south of the river creek. Bar Dubai is sourrouded by the
regions of Mankhool and Karama. |

The south side of the
river is Jumeirah which is renowned for its tall apartment blocks
and five star hotels. Diera, lies on the north side of the river
creek. Diera is famous for souks and markets. Rigga, Al Garoud
and Al Ramool lies to the east of Diera. Dubai International
Airport is located north of Al- Garhoud. |

Sharjah and Ajman are
situated to the east of Dubai. Coastal area of Jebel Ali are
situated at the south of Dubai. To the south of Jebel Ali, the
region Terrain consists mostly of rolling sand dunes which eventually
culminate in the endless desert known as the Empty Quarter which
makes up the southern, the major portion of the United Arab
Emirates. The areas of Ajman and Um Al-Qaiwain are rockey area.
