What We Do
Train soldiers for military occupations as Dental Assistants, Preventive Dentistry Specialists, Laboratory Technicians and Non-Commissioned Officers, serve as Subject Matter Experts for dental issues and support other civilian , officer and enlisted courses in the U.S. Army Medical Department Center and School.
Organizational Components

Admin/Operations Branch

 

Provides admin/logistical support for DDS; Monitors standing operating procedures for DDS; Monitors course development/classroom presentations; Serves as quality control advisor to the Department Chief and SGM; Provides logistical support; Coordinates and processes personnel actions for staff & faculty; Represents and executes policies of DDS

 

Professional Development Branch

 

Responsible for conducting the OBC, OAC, and BNCOC Dental Tracks; PA Dental Track (12 hrs lectures-5 hr lab); DMDC Course (5 days Admin/Management); and Leader development/SME duties

 

Dental Specialist Branch

 

Responsible for conducting the following courses: 91E Dental Specialist Course (16 classes of 7 weeks 3 days); 91EX2 Preventive Dentistry Specialty Course (4 classes of 12 weeks); RDH Local Anesthesia Course (DL); and the Expanded Functions Dental Assistant Course 

 

Dental Laboratory Branch

 

Responsible for sustaining and conducting the Basic Dental Laboratory Specialist Course (331-N5, 24 week course) and the Advanced Dental Laboratory Specialist Course    (331-F1, 30 day course) located on Sheppard AFB, TX under the Interservice Training Review Organization (ITRO) guidelines.
