TOP IRISH ARTISTS UNITE FOR CHILDREN THIS CHRISTMAS
Five of Ireland's leading artists have joined forces to raise
funds for two very worthy children's charities this Christmas,
Our Lady's Hospital for Sick Children Crumlin and Chernobyl
Children's Project.
Rasher, Robert Ballagh, Jim Fitzpatrick, Graham Knuttel and
Barry Flangan have all completed a painting, which they have
donated to the two charities, which have been transformed
into a Christmas Card.
The launch took place on Wednesday 10th November when each
of the original 5 paintings and cards were officially unveiled
by the artists, plus patrons and representatives of Chernobyl
Children's Project, Ali Hewson and Adi Roche, and CEO David
Doran from Our Lady's Hospital For Sick Children Crumlin.
All proceeds from the sale of the cards will be donated to
the two charities. Each pack contains ten cards (two images
of each of the five paintings) and costs ten euro. The original
paintings will finally be auctioned off at the IRMA HONOURS
annual night in the Burlington Hotel on the 11th March 2005.
The two charities will also be the recipients of monies raised
on this night.
The cards, which go on nationwide sale today in StatOil Faretrade
and Golden Discs, are also available from The Children's Medical
and Research Foundation at Our Lady's Hospital For Sick Children
