 Oldest recording, but first performed by Doris Eaton Travis in the 1928 stage production Hollywood Music Box Review. The following year, it took off after being featured in MGM's first 'talkie' Hollywood Review Of 1929, as sung by the Rounders, Cliff 'Ukelele Ike' Edwards and the Brox Sisters. It sure wasn't the first time someone splashed around in it when Gene Kelly sang this song in the most famous film scene in musical history. Singin' In The Rain was the fourth film using that same song, Kubrick's A Clockwork Orange not even counted.
