Workforce Practice Development

The Workforce and Practice Development Service is part of the Children’s Services Directorate, based in County Hall, Worcester.

We provide a range of learning and development opportunities for the Children and Young People's Workforce including training opportunities for the Common Assessment Framework and Early Support.

The aims of our service Include:

  1. Support the workforce to meet the needs and aspirations of children, young people and their families in Worcestershire.
  2. Ensuring a range of learning and development opportunities are available to support and enhance skills and knowledge.
  3. Ensuring colleagues are brought together to learn together whenever appropriate to do so.

Aiming High for Disabled Children

Aiming High for Disabled Children (AHDC) is the government's transformation programme for disabled children's services in England.

The programme focuses on developing Short Breaks, Accessible Childcare, Transition Support and Parent Forums. The Government have a far better chance of fulfilling their potential.

Training and Learning Opportunities

There are a range of training and Learning events including online training available for you to take part in and learn more about developing in the workforce.

Youth Work

Youth work helps young people learn about themselves, others and society, through informal educational activities which combine enjoyment, challenge and learning.

Youth workers, work primarily with young people aged between 13 and 19, but may in some cases extend this to those aged 11 to 13 and 19 to 25. Their work seeks to promote young people’s personal and social development and enable them to have a voice, influence and place in their communities and society as a whole.
