MECS Open Access Information and Policy

Open Access is a publishing model that provides immediate, worldwide, barrier-free access to the full text of research articles without requiring a subscription to the journal in which these articles are published. Accordingly, readers are allowed to copy, use, distribute, transmit and display the work publicly and to make and distribute derivative works, in any digital medium for any responsible purpose, subject to proper attribution of authorship.

All articles published by MECS are made immediately available worldwide under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License. Everyone has free and unlimited access to the full-text of all articles published in MECS journals, and everyone is free to re-use the published material if proper accreditation/citation of the original publication is given. Open access publication is supported by the authors' institutes or research funding agencies by payment of a comparatively low Article Processing Charge (APC) or free for accepted articles.
