While it may seem that you're involved in a battle with your web designer, it is their job to ensure you keep your company message and branding on track. Designers that “do only as they’re told” may not be properly serving your business and your brand. Logical and creative minds must mix to balance of the Force!
Seek to understand that which you may not my young Jedi. -- Yoda (well, he could have said that...)
Branding can be communicated in a variety of ways. Often creative minds and logical minds don't mix, so it is important to keep an open mind and clearly communicate with your web design team.
When starting your design, make sure you explain why you may not like an element of your website and go beyond a simple, "I don't like it". Is it the color? A specific pattern? Perhaps an image you don't like? Be specific as to why you don't like an element of your website and provide examples of what you do like, as well as the reasoning behind why you feel it represents your brand. This will help your designer understand the Force that drives your passion!
Are you a Darth Vader? Or are you willing to open your mind to the power of the creative Force?
