Our Bahá'í Center

The hub of all of the activities of the local Bahá'í Community is the Louisville Bahá'í Center at 3808 Bardstown Road, Louisville KY 40218, located in the Buechel business district, southeast of downtown Louisville and due east from the Louisville airport.

The Bahá'í Center hosts Devotional Meetings and Children's Classes every Sunday morning, regular meetings of the Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá'í s of Louisville (the locally-elected governing body of the community), and other spiritual gatherings throughout the month.  For information about local events, click on the "Calendar" tab in the top menu.

History of the Louisville Bahá'í Center

The Bahá'í Faith has been represented in the Louisville area since the 1920s. The original building that served as the local Bahá'í center in Louisville opened in 1965. It was sold in 1985 when the community outgrew the space. At that point, the community rented various spaces for its gatherings and held smaller events in the homes of community members.

Today's Bahá'í Center

The current Bahá'í Center on Bardstown Road was purchased in November 1998, renovated during the following year, and officially dedicated on November 12, 1999.  The new Bahá'í Center also underwent a major renovation during the summer of 2009.

"Blessed is the spot, and the house, and the place, and the city, and the heart, and the mountain, and the refuge, and the cave, and the valley, and the land, and the sea, and the island, and the meadow where mention of God hath been made, and His praise glorified." -Bahá'u'lláh
