Erik Dahlager - Painter, Photographer, Sculptor & Gumoil Photo Artist
Erik Dahlager has been a freaky art person since winning his first photography contest at the tender age of thirteen. Since then, his creative nature has led him to express himself through painting and sculpture, as well as photography. Erik has won several awards for his photography and has exhibited in many respectable venues, but is still terrible at math.
Erik grew up in Albuquerque and studied fine art and photography at the University of New Mexico. He has exhibited at the Asheville Art Museum, Fayetteville Museum of Art and Southeastern Spectrum in Winston-Salem. He has had solo exhibitions at Atelier Studios in Winston-Salem and at Royal Center for the Arts in Durham and has had his work in several galleries and retail establishments in the region.
Erik is an energetic board member of the Foothills Arts Council, where he also hosts a photography club, and is a member of the Yadkin Valley Craft Guild. A strong promoter of the arts, Erik works to make art accessible to the community and has created and implemented arts events such as KidsFest in Elkin.
Erik lives in Traphill, North Carolina, next door to Stone Mountain State Park. He loves being in nature and the occasional full moon hike. He loves music and likes to get funky. Erik's ultimate goal for his art career is to have it support him in a simple manner so that he can support his art habit. He just wants to be able to stay up late doing art, listen to music, do his art, hang out with his girl and his dogs, do his art, shoot hoops, do his art and then do some more art.
For answers to any questions and to further Erik's dream you can reach him at his studio at 336-928-0938 or by emailing him here.
