Jetpacks and enemy juggling in E.X. Troopers gameplay vid

From the moment I laid eyes on E.X. Troopers I had a feeling I had a pretty good feeling about the project. Cel-shaded graphics, an anime-inspired art-style, spaceships, mechs, what more could I ask for? Apparently the answer to that question is the ability to evade enemy attacks with a jetpack and then juggle with a machine gun.

Special thanks go to Gematsu for piecing this video together from footage found on the Lost Planet spin-off's official website. The more I see from this game the more excited I get. I just hope Capcom USA decides to acknowledge its existence at some point or at the very least decide not to pull a Persona 4 Arena on this thing so those of us that are interested can still import the damn game.

Legacy Comments (will be imported soon)

This is the only game that would convince me to buy a 3ds.
Reminds me of Burning Rangers.

Which is a good thing.
CAPCOM

ANNOUNCE

FOR

US

RELEASE

If I could yell through my computer with this text, I would. At least give me the option to increase the font 10 fold.
I think we can all agree that this looks like a lot of fun.
I'm starting to wonder if this will ever be released outside of Japan.
Do I we have to make a Facebook page to get this game to release or something. That seems like how things get localized here
Does anyone know, if the versions for PS3 and 3DS will be identical or will the 3DS get a seperate version?
Looks great !!
While it frustrates me that Capcom is insisting on tackling the Western market with their biggest budget titles, such as Resident Evil, it is nice to see that they aren't abandoning the Japanese market and style. They are just refocusing them to lower budget platforms, which honestly makes sense as handhelds sell well over there.

So here's to hoping positive sales of Resident Evil: Revelations will convince Capcom that maybe there's a market for their crazy stuff on the 3DS after all and we'll get this and Monster Hunter released stateside.
Never thought I'd be interested in anything to do with Lost Planet after how much I disliked the original game, but this looks like oodles of fun
If this doesn't come out in the US, I may have to boycott Capcom forever.

Aside from the importing of the PS3 version...
i really hope Capcom releases this for the West! i want to play this in English!
Yep, looks amazing. And I will import if it doesn't come over. But really, the game is coming over. Capcom is very focused on international business.
I would also like to play this.
...Who are those voice actors? Pink-haired lead and that guy who got juggled in the first clip sound SOOO familiar. Almost positive they voice-acted Shonen Jump characters...
Capcom, do you see how many people enjoy this game where you are being yourself and not trying to be a western developer?

Just be yourself Capcom, be yourself.
oh my god this looks miles better than Lost Planet "3"

they pretty much abandoned the core of the Lost Planet series :P

i wonder why they didn't called it Lost Planet: Ex Troopers???

also yes please Capcom US localize this for the love of all gamers!!!

"Special thanks go to Gemeratsu"

it's Gematsu :D

and yes im also a member of that site too ^^
@Zero_armada

the voice actor of the male seems to be Kamiya Hiroshi.

especially when he dashes you'll hear that tone in his voice :P

@SaveFaustus

agree,

Capcom just stay fucking like Capcom
This game is looking so damn hot, want this shizz.
Am I missing something? That just looked (apart from the art design) ugodly bland.
@Qreg yes it is, because every other mech game and their mother did juggling mechanics, space opera setting and cel-shaded graphics, those elements are SO overused.

Seriously though, I get the feeling that this "spin-off" is gonna overshadow its parent series pretty quickly.
@Viredae

You somehow misread my comment as "overused" instead of bland. Bland means boring, uninteresting, without "flair". And I stand by the comment. Like they just put the bare basics for an action game and through a layer of anime and cell-shaded gloss over it. From all I've seen so far the levels seem so bar and the enemies so damned generic. I get the feel of a bad arcade port for some reason.

But this is just a video. Could be wrong.
@Qreg You're completely right...

you are missing something.
@chiptoon

Yep. Excitement.

I had it when the thing was announced but every bit of footage/screencaps just sucks more away.
Once again, this game looks fantastic and I want it, but man I'm not getting over how much this game is probably blatantly using the engine for Legends 3.
pretty nice, pretty nice.
