Virtue's Last Reward gets Euro trailer, you lucky dogs

Tony Ponce, Associate Editor

Behold! The first English trailer for Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward! It may not be super amazing, but at least it's evidence that our Euro brethren have something to look forward to!

As you may recall, Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors didn't make it across the pond, but at least the DS was region-free. For the sequel, Europeans thankfully won't have to play the import game.

Rather than Aksys Games, publishing duties overseas will be handled by Rising Star Games. In addition, the European version won't be dual-language and will instead feature the Japanese voice work plus the American English text translation. While a 3DS demo for the States is still up in the air, Europe will be receiving both 3DS and Vita demos before the game's release in November.

As for my American peeps, we're still go for launch on October 23! Wheeee!

looks awesome as always ^^
I JUST got 999, after not being able to find it for ages (Thanks reprint!) and I am adoring that game. I seriously can't wait for this.
I keep having to remember that this is the successor to 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors. I hope this one is as good as that game is.
Please sell well in the west!
Where do I preorder?
Ashley dies about a quarter into the game.
@balloon, you sir, are a cunt.
"European version won't be dual-language"

:<

"Japanese voice work with English/American subtitles"

:D

Phew, I was worried for a second I'd be stuck with a miserable English dub there.

I am so fucking psyched for this game to the point I might even try and get over a quarter of the endings. Heh.
Hnng! I'm still playing 999 now, such an awesome game. I've had 3 different bad endings! I'm so glad this is coming out in Europe.
@Oliver David Bray You do know there's nobody named Ashley in the game right? Ignore the troll.
Argh which version do I get??
No way, Tony, that trailer *was* amazing! These are such strange experiences to have on the 3DS/DS, so outside the family-friendliness of all the other titles. Not to be missed out! Thanks for the coverage! (It's always charmingly odd to hear the PEGI notice again, too!)
Just got my copy of 999 in the mail yesterday. Seriously jazzed to play it and virtue. Analogue: a hate story made me realize i kinda dig the visual novel/choose your own adventure genre. Hope we keep getting more of these in the west
I ended up settling on the 3DS version simply because one day I will want to replay 999 and this on the same device.
Dang, I wish I spoke Euro.
Just got 999 recently. Will try to play the hell out of the game I need to finish before that, though...
Demo was awesome,

There will be a Survarium beta before the end of 2013

Despite my sadness that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 may never happen, Vostok Games' MMOFPS Survarium might just fill that void. In a blog post today, the developers outlined the timeline they are aiming for and when players can get earl...   more

This Elder Scrolls Online video explains the story

As some of you may know, I'm an Elder Scrolls nut -- possibly the biggest one on Destructoid if you include games outside of Skyrim. So while I have my reservations regarding the upcoming Elder Scrolls Online, I'm eager to s...   more

Guild Wars 2 boasts 3 million in sales

Guild Wars 2 had a pretty tall order to fill when it was released. It sought to change up the MMO formula once and for all, and despite the fact that I wasn't a fan of the original Guild Wars, I think it succeeded in spades. ...   more

Star Wars: The Old Republic and its new 'Gay Planet'

BioWare wants to take you to a gay bar. Or rather, a gay planet. Star Wars: The Old Republic is being updated to include a rather inelegant solution to its lack of gay characters -- a planet called Makeb where all the homosex...   more

Gazillion initiates Marvel Heroes Founders Program

Down as I was on Marvel Heroes based on my time spent with the closed beta, there's little doubt in my mind that the game will find its audience and do quite well for itself. In addition to narrowing down the release to sprin...   more

TERA is going free-to-play in February

When I played TERA at launch, it felt like it was designed for a free-to-play audience. There were so many "kill X of Y" quests that it made me a bit nauseous. Now that it will be free-to-play starting in February, ...   more

Review: Forge

Maybe it's just me, but it seems that every once in a while there is a game that comes out that makes a statement about MMORPGs. That the best part of those games is the player-versus-player segments. In 2007, there was the "...   more
