Hey cool, Nintendo released the Gimick 2! Err, I mean, the Wii U!Seriously, what a joke. I think the public learned their lesson with the FAD that was the Wii. Have fun playing cut rate games with crappy graphics by randomly shaking your controller, blowing on it, poking stuff, and flailing your arms like an idiot. I'll just be over here playing games that are actually good.
Looks more like two adults opening christmas presents than an attempt at a professional unboxing video tbh.
I hate sounding harsh, but yeah. Barely any detailed shots, no real knowledge of the system. I could look at pictures and get a better impression. Sorry :S

OMG, these guys apparantly know nothing about the Wii U. Worst unboxing video I've seen. What idiot sticks. No wonder I quit coming to gamespot around 10 years ago.
by the way, if they are a good store...... they have the wii in both bundles ready for shipping. basic bundle come with nintendo land, zombie u and mario. deluxe comes with all those and black ops 2. basic bundle 479.99 and deluxe is 529.99. 13.00 to shio 3 day, and up to 40 for next day. so if you really want to order one...
ok, so i decided to go for it and buy the wii u. all the previews, features and reviews look great and i want it! i looked up reviews of newegg and they look legit, i've heard of them before. anyone out there used them? probably should have asked before i bought thru them...
@iempire68 Newegg is totally legit. I've ordered from their online store several times and never had a major issue. The only issue I ever had was when it seemed like the item I ordered was in shipping limbo, but it turned out it was the courier's fault for not updating shipment information and the item arrived on time anyway. Not only that, but newegg gave me a $25 gift card as a "sorry" for the inconvenience. So yeah, nothing but good things to say about them.
@g1rldraco7 Actually, it's a stand for the GamePad. It says so right on the side of the box.
I just came to make sure Nintendo Land comes in an actual case, and not that plastic sleeve I saw in another unboxing video. Whew. That was a close call. lol.
I went on gamespot.com and it says that batman arkham city armoured edition is coming out on december 31. Is it not a launch title(Nov 18)?
Well if you see from this point...Buying a Vita and a Wii U, for just 50 more bucks I'll buy the wiiU...:)

The only thing I´m starting to worry is that the Wii U doesn´t have extra ports for connecting it to a strereo system?
PS3 has both ways. HDMI or extra ports for it and it has optical port too. The Wii U is kind of dissapointed looking from behind it.

I mean come on he didn't know the yellow port was the AC port?And they thought the AV port was the same port used on the gamecube?....seriously.... The gamecube uses the same AV out cord from the N64 and SNES. The wii and wii U use the same AV cable. the only difference is that the WiiU can do HD on it.I'm done...wow. >:o

To those getting upset at others opinions against the Wii U, just ignore them. While I want the Wii U and hope to get it as soon as possible, we all have our opinions and criticisms on things in life. It would be too stressful and overwhelmng if you try to control someone else's opinion. While yes there are trolls and haters against Nintendo, it is best to just ignore them and keep doing what you enjoy best, that goes for making gaming systems or playing them. Let the haters and critics have their say and do not let them get to you. If you do, that's where they get you and you fall short because you gave in to a minor opinion. There is going to be love, hate, and mixed opinions on almost everything, so we can't get upset over a certain opinion. It is best to just move on and not agrue or debate.
I still believe the Wii U will be a great system and help innovate the gaming industry. I am looking forward to it.
I have this on pre-order. I really, really hope Wii U is a success 'cos it will stick it to all those who spend their time talking down everything in sight and trying to make themselves sound so clever when in reality they just sound boring.

Some people aren't excited about the Wii U and they speak their minds, is that a crime? No, being skeptical about something is perfectly normal and yet you try belittleing our opinions just because we disagree.

@samedizombie I don't care if it's a success or not, and I personally don't care if I'm 'boring', but I'd like to speak for most of us who aren't real impressed by the Wii U when I say "Try not to get your hopes up too much."
I used to be a pretty big Nintendo fan, back in the day. I feel like Nintendo doesn't have the right vision for modern gaming, and I feel like they let me down too many times as a fan and a consumer to continue supporting them. Many of us really do feel like, "What the....are you thinking, Nintendo?" That's our opinion.
You don't have to agree with us - by all means, try the Wii U. Maybe it will actually be pretty good, we have no idea. We are just basing our opinions off of Nintendo's track record in recent years, and first impressions of the system.
In the end, maybe you just gotta understand that not all of us agree that everything Nintendo makes is instantly 'the best', and that Nintendo fans are automatically 'smarter' and 'have better taste' than the rest of us gamers.
@Ovirew Yes, I do understand that not everyone agrees everything Nintendo does is the best, (I never said that) and I certainly do not think Nintendo fans are automatically smarter etc, (I didn't say that either.) I can't agree that Nintendo doesn't have the right vision for modern gaming. They have been driving and advancing the market with 3D gaming and user interaction, you can't get more modern than that.
No mystery ports? I thought they'd eventually sell a block of RAM or place it on another piece to make it twice as big. Just doesn't feel like a Nintendo.
And that's why Nintendo is going so down in the gaming business.... seriously.. this looks like a massive failure... non practical gaming hardware, and no improvements in what it matters, the software

@Overkillhazard I'm not a hater of Nintendo, I used to love it, I grew up playing Mario and stuff, but is not a lie what I said, the handling of this is not better, and the software (games) well we all know..
I expect that it will happen like years ago with the wii, then the ps3 arrive and the 360 and both got the market, and nintendo just stayed as a little kids console game, cause Sony's and Microsoft's next consoles are gonna be trully a next gen console..

So tell me, why have Sony released another third version of the PS3? When Nintendo released the Wii it caught Microsoft & Sony with their pants down, why? Because it took gaming in a different, new direction called User Interaction, while everyone else called 'Next Gen' a console which had bigger and better graphics, blah blah, Nintendo said "Actually no, let's get the gamer involved." The rest is history, and the proof? Microsoft Kinect & Playstation Move. Nintendo has done it again with the tablet, challenging pre-conceived ideas of what gaming is all about.
@Antic_Dreamer @zratliff122 Antic_Dreamer si right, eventually those games are available on wii consoles, like FIFA, and they are just not the same experience as with the other consoles, believe me, I've played in every console... Nintendo hurries to put in the market this new thing just because to have some earnings while Sony and Microsoft bring up their new babies, and when that time comes, with 2 trully next gen consoles, I don't know what would be of Nintendo's future, a stupid new 8bit Mario game wont save them forever... really, what I see on this unboxing video for a new console for sale is depressing... big games and franchise (not talking about CoDs) will think twice or more times if they want to develop their game for wii U, take GTA V for example
@zratliff122 Why Call of Battlefield? Uncharted, Heavy Rain, Infamous, GoW (even if I don't like both God of War nor Gears of War), M.A.G., DC Universe online etc... All those games are innovative and exclusives to big consoles The one or another. Call of Battlefield will be ported to WiiU some day an that will be the last nail to the coffin of Nintendo's inoriginality.

@Antic_Dreamer If you don't consider Mario or Zelda fans gamers, then what is a gamer? I see more originality and change in those games than the general Call of Battlefield games that are shoveled out every year.I feel this will be much like the Nintendo 3DS, where it was foreseen as being a complete failure but ended up doing quite well. That's because the consumers Nintendo is trying to reach are not the ones looking up specs about the system and picking it up, but is for the more casual gamer or a grandparent who buys it for a grandchild. Not to say that Nintendo and it's franchises don't have their hardcore fan base-but to dismiss those who are hardcore into nintendo games as anything other than gamers seems foolish to me.

@Elnath10 @Overkillhazard Agree, don't understand why WiiU is called "next gen" if it is slightly powerfull compared to PS3 and 360. Nintendo just made "this gen" after 6 years - I pity them. Gameshelf is dull - youll buy mario that looks and plays like 8 bit mario for 50$? I won't. And it is Nintendos politics to appeal to the children. Now they want to drive Gamers (i can't call mario or zelda lover a Gamer) attention, but i dont see the reason to waste money on this sh*t if I already own PS3 or Xbox or PC to play the same games. It wont have any exclusives exept Nintendo's games that are no interest to grownups. Dont tell me about retro - if I'd wanted to play mario i can download 8 bit version and won't see the difference. And it doesn't play blu-rays or at least dvds, and its a 21 century already, Nintendo! With 20 gb hdd I wont be even able to download more han 2-3 movies in HD. Nintendo never beeing capable of building a good network - think they'll fail this aspect too. And the last drop - ugly, ugly Miis - hate them!

Uh, it's a system launch, by that logic the PS3 should've been a massive failure, even the 360, and the PS2 since all those systems didn't have really any great games at launch.
@abHS4L88 games at launch is another matter, the subject is the main hardware, those games for those consoles eventually came and consoles got success...

Yep and I've yet to come across any negative feedback, majority of the people gave it great praise while others praised the GamePad's feel and comfort, actually playing the games, and/or the visuals that the Wii U was putting out.
It just seems to me that you simply wrote it off without even attempting to do any sort of research, especially when saying stuff like "no improvements whatsoever".
@abHS4L88 Have you read the feedbacks and reviews of people that already played with the new hardware??? Other than that, it just doesn't make me want to even try it.
Okay so why isn't the Wii U getting the same opportunity as those? You don't know the main hardware so how can you say that the hardware is an issue?
