Storm's Adventure with Quantic Dream

Storm Dain
3:00 PM on 08.27.2010

Specifically, Indigo Prophecy (a.k.a. Fahrenheit) and Heavy Rain.  Sorry, no Omikron: The Nomad Soul this time around.

If that first sentence wasn't confusing, then I'm not trying hard enough.

Quantic Dream is a French software development team, and sometimes motion capture studio, that has created two "Interactive Drama" video games. Those games are the focus of this adventure.

Indigo Prophecy was one of those games that I heard about from the static noise fans produce. The viewpoint of many was since it challenged the definition of a game and, ergo, was incredibly artsy, the tragedy of the century was the fact it didn't sell millions of copies. Like I said...static noise. But when I found this game at a discount store, I decided to step up to the metaphorical plate and try this Interactive Drama. Besides, my purchase changed lives. At least that's what the price sticker said.

Immediately following is Heavy Rain, a title that the Halo 3 children may have heard about, but snubbed off because it doesn't feature a cover system or online play. Standing firm as a PlayStation 3 exclusive was the least of its problems. Although, after playing for about an hour, I couldn't really argue with them. Heavy Rain quickly turned my colorful, fun life into a manic depressive mess. I blame all my clipping audio on this game.

Also, PAPER CRAAAAANE!

Legacy Comments (will be imported soon)

PAPER CRAAANNE!! aaaaahahaha I love these videos!
Indigo Prophecy I enjoyed a bit, even if the ending was nonsense. It at least didn't spoil the entire story before it.
Wasn't "Beer for my Horses" made into a movie?
lamo I loved the chocolate rain parody at the end. Especially the last line.
Laughing Ass My Off. >_<
David Bowie would have made both games better. XD Not a huge fan of either since they're rather heavy with QTE but, as stated, it was nice to see a change in game play mechanics back then with Indigo and again with Heavy Rain. You've got to give them something for breaking away from the norm.
Hey Storm stop buying AND renting games, only steal them from now on.
Why does Avast! say there is a virus in the header of this story? :\
Hey Occams. This is the guy I was telling you about.
@garethxxgod

I heard you and Occam talking about this, but that was when my mic was off and I didn't realize it. I'll have to give it a watch...
funny stuff as always, Storm.

y'know, I have the exact same thoughts on Fahrenheit/Indigo Prophecy as you do; the game is fucking terrible, but you've gotta play it at least once in your life.
Very funny. But I enjoyed both games very much.
I also agree that Indigo Prophecy should be played at least once just by merit of its sheer batshit insanity. It's like David Cage only wrote half of the script and had to pull random Matrix-esque wire fu fights and ridiculous conspiracy theories out of his ass to fill the last half of the game.

Heavy Rain, on the other hand, is just dull.
haha ''i really dont like this game but who cares''

awesome.
"What are we doing now, child killing?" Dude, really, are you THAT sensitive?
I remember working at my local police station a few years back as an admin guy and CID would be talking all kinds of un-PC crap when coming back from a crime scene. So when you see them talk like that on TV and movies, it's pretty close to the truth, just without the added "knowing wink to the camera".
You have could easily start a nice career in singing, Storm.

If Justin Bieber could, man, you could.

-Also, you managed to avoid making the "Press X to Jason" joke.

Bon travail.
Would you ever consider putting a MP3 link for Heavy Rain?
Norman Jayden, as in, NOMNOMNOMNOMNOM

Heavy Rain was alright. But i'm a sucker for story games.
I played Indigo Prophecy with my Gf and ejoyed it pretty much. Then we went through Heavy Rain twice, cuz the first ending we got was just too bad. But I prolly wouldn't finished any of those games if it wasen't for my GF's company. It's like watching a kinda decent movie.
HAhaha I Had to play Indigo Prophecy first in order to watch your video, so I did. I loved the game, I loved your video.

Also, inb4 any one on youtube "Can I Has thas song in mo3?"
at best the token of a merely momentary impression. Chance or zagam online
