Kevin VanOrd and Tom McShea Explore the world in Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch.
Ow how i love rpg's and more love for Jrpg's
It's...so...pretty! :O *weeps happy tears*
Level 5 are pretty much masters when it comes to great RPG games- Dark Cloud/Chronicle, Dragon Quest VIII, Rogue Galaxy- and more I've probably missed. so I'm sure this will be awesome as well.
What I hate about JRPGs is they're so enclosed and linear, there is no exploration, you feel stuck to the ground as there is normally no third axis of movement. Every time you jump in a JRPG it either feels like just an animation, where you're not really going off the ground as you cannot transverse upwards or a point where you're forced to jump automatically. I also hate how the characters run, it's more like a slow motion stride and it looks over the top and crap.
Tixylixx *post-2002 JRPG's
I'm still not sure. I pre-ordered the game but the demo was not that hot for me. I'm still not sure if I will get it day one or wait a bit for the game to drop in price.
VanOrd has such an awesome JewFace :D
This game is something special, day one buy for me.
It was well over a year ago that I first saw screenshots of this game, and I'm glad it's finally hitting the "western shores". I've played a fair handful of Level 5 games and watched several Studio Ghibli movies, and Ni No Kuni really looks like it lives up to the high standards associated with both companies. Even as a middle-aged man, I'm looking forward to picking this game up and spending plenty of time basking in the high-quality bliss.
Side note: I couldn't help but laugh, 'cause the chatter was a bit overwhelming for a little while -- and then, suddenly: "Ohh! It's Oliver's mom!!" ...followed by such a heavy silence. x) It seems obvious that the game gets the player (and any bystanders) emotionally involved to a healthy extent.
I want this ****ing game!!! I have been waiting for so long now!!
I miss jrpg's. there were not nearly enough this generation
I just checked how the game was released in asia, and it seems we're only getting the normal version and wizards edition (magical in asia), so what about All in one Edition? (you damn cash milkers, Ni no Kuni publisher -.-).
Played the demo, and it seemed nice, seems similar to FFXIII-2 in gameplay. Aside that how many chars you can control and if you can move while fighting.
ZOMG!!!1! DRIPPY'S WELSH!?!?!
Looks good but not my type of game.
Kats_RK ya , i am love art

What a hell is this..?
Vitex2003 It's a JRPG by Level 5 done in collaboration with Studio Ghibli (of Princess Mononoke fame). The artwork and story were done by (or in close collaboration with) Ghibli and the game design and programming were handled by Level 5. From what I've seen so far, it has a fairly basic combat system (it's a mix of menu selects with real-time character movement, kind of like Star Ocean); and the story is a bit kiddy; but Ghibli's done some really great stories with child protagonists before (Spirited Away; Castle in the Sky), as well as some not-so-great ones (Kiki's Delivery Service; Ponyo), so I'm definitely hoping they brought it this time.
If nothing else, the artwork is fantastic, and the 3D modelling really captures it - it really feels like you're playing a Ghibli film. I'm probably going to grab a copy just to see the story and artwork, but this title probably isn't for everyone. If you're a Ghibli / JRPG fan, sure pick it up. They also just put out a demo on PSN a week or two ago, I think it's still somewhere on the featured lists.
Here's expecting the White Witch to be one of the alternate personalities of Oliver's mom.
Is that Rhod Gilbert?
I watched the first 4 minutes and I can't watch anymore. As soon as they mentioned familiar I was like: "AHHH No more spoliers!!" I'm so getting this day one.
i hope l-5 did ghibli justice
Just started watching it's sad to see Tom have no knowledge about how this game has been out for 2 years in Japan, and that there was a DS version, but didn't get localized because it came with a giant book. This has been my most anticipated game since 2010.
Minishdriveby ok
Ive wanted ever since i heard about it!!!!!
Do want
I was afraid this game would look dated since its hitting the US about a year+ later but this game looks phenomenal
Wow kevin lost all that weight but now hes a fat slob again.. what a shame.
SDSkarface Keeping weight off has been an arduous task, but I'm working at it. I am grateful for your support; calling me "a fat slob" is certainly the encouragement I needed.
SDSkarface What a disgusting thing to say. Seriously. Don't you realise how you can hurt people? People don't need that shit.
SDSkarface dude... come on now
SDSkarface
You Sir are an asshole!
SDSkarface You are A rude pile of shite. You being alive is the shame!
SDSkarface WTF?!
SDSkarface What a POS you are.
I'm not sure I would like how childish the games seems. Not talking about the visual style but the dialogue.
comes out 4 days befor my birthday....... hope i get the wizards edition :p
Looks nice but damn, do they have to make it so kiddy looking? Guessing this one is for children...?
