Modern Warfare 4 revealed by actor Bill Murray
Voice of Captain Price confirms MW4 under development at studio Infinity Ward, carries on story from the previous games.
[Update]: Infinity Ward has updated its official Twitter feed with the following statement regarding the news story, below. "Interesting news today, but it’s not true," said Infinity Ward reps. "We’ve not talked with any voice actors, so all news is speculation."
The next chapter in the Call of Duty franchise, Black Ops II, isn't out until November 13th, but already another game in the series is being readied. Modern Warfare 4 is in the works, at least if voice actor Bill Murray is to be believed.
The actor, who has played Captain Price in the previous two games in the series, told This is Xbox that he is set to reprise his role soon. He said, “Yeah, on Monday I am off to meet Infinity Ward about the next game, Modern Warfare 4, I’m doing work on the sequel to Modern Warfare 3, it carries straight on and I only ever appear in the Modern Warfare games…”
News of another entry in the Modern Warfare franchise should come as no surprise. Traditionally, development duties on the Call Of Duty series are split between Infinity Ward and Treyarch, with each studio producing a game every two years.
Infinity Ward's last game was the critically acclaimed Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Since then the studio has remained largely silent following the loss of head Jason West and Vince Zampella, as well as outspoken creative strategist Robert Bowling,
Black Ops II is due for release worldwide on November 13 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. PlayStation Vita game Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified is due out also on that date, with a Wii U version following as a launch title for Nintendo's new console on November 18.

Defending COD is like admitting that you are not a gamer, just a dork who only plays COD, thus restricting yourself from 99.99% of the video games out there. COD is the downfall of gaming. It appeals to only casual gamers and it has actually turned hardcore gamers into casuals. Believe me, I am a badass gamer that owns on most games, but after I played COD alot back in the day(which I am amazing at), my skill diminished on other games that I had previously been good at. fortunately my skills returned a week after I quit COD.

The engine for call of duty wont change till the ps4 and other next gen consoles get realised... why would they produce a brand new engine for 1 game?

Even if they wanted to make a new COD game, they should atleast have the decency to make a new engine that is focused on making the COD experience the best it can be. The present engine is terrible by todays standards and comparing it to BF3 and MOH frostbite is just painful. I wonder what it would cost Activision to invest in a new engine that can rival the Frostbite engine
megaspiderweb09 Actually, BF3 and MOH play very rigid and look choppy. Frostbite engine 2 is...over-exaggerated. Oh, and the new "Medal of Honor: Warfighter" is total garbage. It also runs on the Frostbite 2 engine. Looks, plays, feels outdated.

If MW4 is suppose to pick up where the last one left off (again), what's the dam point? Is the Multiplayer going to change/innovate at all? I'm a huge Call of Duty fan, but if Treyarch can innovate a bit, MW4 better follow or I'll be flooded with depression.

MW3 was a repeat of MW2. This BS with having to play at all skill levels is garbage to be 100% done. I will not buy another one. Short game. Not every one is 13 years old and have the dextarity of one. I enjoy playing games but being 65 years old I have no interest in playing the same senerio 4 times no matter how hard it gets. I can't compete with a 13 year old movement wise. They need to up date tank commander.

This franchise will eventually die like the guitar hero series, we get bored of the same stuff every year. As a shooter CoD has decent mechanics but it hasn't evolved much since CoD4.
CoD is a fun popcorn shooter, but IMO is certainly not worth the love or even hate it gets, it's just another railroad shooter. This CoD crazy will die when we stop caring about it.

It isnt necessarily that im tired of the series. Its also not that i mind MW4 coming out. I enjoy a Modern Warfare game....like BF3(also BFBC2) and COD4(and at times MW2 and MW3)....i just want them to maybe wait until next generation and step it up A LOT. Even if it is another modern warfare game they can still change it up a bit some how. Then again, maybe one of the biggest thing that made COD4 so attractive is that it was something different/new.
Why deny the inevitable? It's gonna happen either way..
