Netflix Now: Not/The Mama Edition

Netflix Now: Not/The Mama Edition photo

Netflix is absolutely crawling with awesome things this week. It's also crawling with bugs and it really should see someone about that. TV has Taking on Tyson, a documentary series about Mike Tyson and his passion for the pigeon-racing circuit. No, really. There's also Grey's Anatomy, Everybody Loves Raymond, and the Henson puppet sitcom Dinosaurs.

There are a ton of good movies on this week, as well. I'm probably most excited about Bellflower, which I've heard wonderful things about but hadn't gotten the chance to watch. Other than that, there's a huge selection in pretty much every genre. Comedies this week include Coming to America, Tommy Boy, The Longest Yard, Private PartsA Night at the Roxbury, and the South Park movie. There's action with Mission: Impossible (and Mission: Impossible III, but not Mission: Impossible II for some reason), both Beverly Hills Cop one and two, and the always awesome Face/Off.

We have a decent selection of chick flicks with Runaway Bride, Superstar, What Women Want, Something's Gotta Give, and Failure to Launch. And, if you need a good cry, there's always Hachi: A Dog's Tale. There are also a few educational films previously from IMAX theaters on this week, on subjects ranging from dinosaurs to the Grand Canyon. While I'm sure they're very pretty, it kind of defeats the point to watch them at home.

Hit the jump, but not the baby. You gotta love him.

Netflix Now: Carlos the Dwarf Edition

I don't remember Harriet the Spy being a terribly good movie, but its childlike sense of espionage was absolutely gripping as a kid. The house we rented at the time had a cinderblock wall with a few blocks jutting out at a pe...   more

Netflix Now: There's a sequel to The Tooth Fairy? Edition

Is this something everyone else was aware of? If so, how could you let this happen!? What is the world coming to? We're a stone's throw away from pestilence and boiling, bloody seas. Mark my words. So this week seems to be pr...   more

Netflix Now: Fish Cupcake Edition

Netflix isn't offering up a lot this week, but what it does have is fairly solid. TV has a fairly decent selection. Both Parks and Recreation and Parenthood are up to season three. There's also more My Fair Wedding and a show...   more

Netflix Now: Right Said Fred 3

I know it must be a generation gap, but I've never understood that Fred thing the kids like. I suppose it's the kind of thing I would have found hilarious when I was ten and stupid, but watching a child crack up at that guy i...   more

[Header source photo by Bruno Sousa] Hey, look! It's the much-hyped early summer film, Abraham Lincoln vs. Zombies! It may seem a bit early for it to be on Netflix already, but it seems like the powers that be are smiling upo...   more
