Conrad and Hamza are out of town, leaving only the Derptastic Duo to record a Podtoid that involves varnished fecal trinkets and recreations of the torture porn that is Chiller. Also, both the Escapist Expo and the Wii U event were attended and recalled in loving detail, while Willem Dafoe gets offered a new movie role in the film adaptation of Bayonetta

As if that wasn't enough, we get our chat on with Borderlands 2 and a whole bunch of Wii U games that Jonathan played. Oh, and Reggie Fils-Aime is a purple Pikmin!

Jonathan you sexy manbeast
I'm looking forward to the week where it's just Jim talking to himself for two hours.
I'm hesitant to listen. The months between Max leaving and Hamza joining were dark times for Podtoid. Ah, who am I kidding? I'm at work. What else am I going to do for the next two hours?
For me the just Holmes and Jim episodes has been the best ones. The Conrad episodes has been real good as well, but only becuse i imagine him naked the entire time.
so excited for these Podtoid animations that you guys speak of
Random thought: I would totally watch a horror movie directed by Jim Sterling. I'm imagining something that has elements of Slither, Cabin in the Woods, Alien, Jeepers Creepers, Evil Dead 2 and Hellraiser.
Bayonetta on PS3 was half framerate and had insane loading times. The loading times have been mostly fixed, but the framerate is still capped at 30.

Regarding Bayonetta 2, I'm positive most of the anger (however terribly misguided) is the result of Sega having such little faith in the series that they decided to drop it from releasing on PS360.

I'm still not sure how this agreement came to be, since the information is ambiguous... Evidently Hideki Kamiya and the new director have been working on Bayonetta 2 seemingly as soon as the first game completed. Then there was a Sega shuffle where they abandoned tons of games, so that seemed to include Bayo2? But according to that same P* quote, 'Nintendo was the right choice for them'. Did Nintendo come in to scoop up a 'hardcore' game? or did Platinum Games shop around and Nintendo decided to pick it up? Either way, if Nintendo was willing to pay for a sequel, you'd think Sega would be smart enough to want to release it on the WiiU AND other systems for maximized sales.
Also, Jim you rocked on that Hour of Love Panel
Also, Jim singing "Jonathan Holmes" at the start of this episode is my new ringtone.
Pump up the jam; pump it up.
@Artemis

I don't think its so much that Sega had little faith in it, I think its more a case of what bad financial straits they are in, especially with Platinum's latest game Anarchy Reigns/Max Anarchy selling poorly in Japan. Thats probably what forced them to cancel and shop Bayonetta around and Nintendo put in the biggest bid. They don't have the money to put into publishing it.

People shouldn't be pissed at Nintendo or Platinum, but how poorly Sega has run itself the past few years to put themselves in this situation.
This is totally unrelated to this Podtoid, but the episodes you had in the past when you were talking about the sex toy websites:

You guys should do a segment where Jonathan reads the descriptions of various sex toys. His monotone/unamused/deadpan readings of them cracks me up so much and I can't explain why. It's like the exact opposite of Jim's reading of them, he gets into it and reads them with excitement, which makes me laugh as well, but when Jonathan reads them I lose it!
@Arttemis: Do you really think Nintendo would have paid for Bayonetta 2 without an exclusivity deal ? Remember: it IS published BY Nintendo...
rofl! The battle music from FF7/Jonathan Holmes song. Stuff like that is all I need.
@orniletter

While I don't think its going to be going to other consoles (at least not anytime soon) this could be similar to how Ninja Gaiden 2 was published by Microsoft.

An exclusive period on the WiiU,followed up with a Bayonetta 2: Climax Eddition.
Loved it as usual. You guys are my two favourite Podtoiders. And Jim, I have to say that although I love Zero Punctuation I am a bigger fan of you than I am of Yahtzee. I might have to go to Expo next year and buy a copy of Deadly Premonition just so you can write "Holmes' anus" on it.
If I ever go to an Escapist Expo, I will throw myself at you Jim if it makes you feel more appreciated.

Sorry Jim but the Willim Defoe movie pitch was the 9/11 of Willim Defoe movie pitches. I now have lung cancer from breathing in the dust in the wake of it. There are new terrified orphan created from that movie pitch.

Other that that 8/10 would fap again.
As much as I don't want to hear Hamza and Conrad be sarcastic about the Wii U, I wish I could hear them be sarcastic about the Wii U.

Next week maybe?
Jim, please never sing La Roux again. Please... I know it's free content but... the switching between your DeVito/Dafoe impression and your La Roux singing every 30 seconds is a level of aural assault I have hitherto not experienced.
Great podcast as always but you forgot one very important thing.

George C. Scott as Jeanne.

Destructoid's 2012 budget desktop guide

Last year, in preparation for Battlefield 3, Alex Bout created a basic part list that could run the game with moderate settings and a solid frame rate. This year, I wanted to see how much further we could push the specs on more or less the same budget. I was pretty surprised by what I found.   more
